WHAM INVESTS IN WOMEN'S HEALTH RESEARCH TO TRANSFORM WOMEN'S LIVES. WHAM WORKS ACROSS DISEASES THAT IMPACT WOMEN DIFFERENTLY AND DIFFERENTIALLY BRAIN HEALTH, HEART HEALTH, IMMUNE AND AUTOIMMUNE HEALTH AND CANCER. THE WHAM REPORT SHOWS THE IMPACT OF ACCELERATING SEX AND GENDERBASED HEALTH RESEARCH ON WOMEN, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THE ECONOMY. THE IMPACTS OF OUR LIMITED KNOWLEDGE ABOUT WOMEN'S HEALTH RELATIVE TO MEN'S BECAUSE OF INSUFFICIENT RESEARCH ADDRESSING WOMEN IS FAR-REACHING. WHAM COMMISSIONED THE RAND CORPORATION TO STUDY THESE IMPACTS FOR: ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE (BRAIN); RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS (AUTOIMMUNE), AND CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE (HEART).WHAMNOW HOSTED 3 NOT 30 FORUM: ACCELERATING RESEARCH AND INVESTMENT IN THE HEALTH OF WOMEN OVER THE NEXT THREE YEARS. ON NOVEMBER 2ND, WOMEN'S HEALTH ACCESS MATTERS (WHAM), IN COLLABORATION WITH NORTHWELL HEALTH'S KATZ INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN'S HEALTH AND KPMG FOUNDATION, CAME TOGETHER WITH THOUGHT LEADERS FROM RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS AND THE INVESTMENT COMMUNITY, ALIGNED TO CREATE INNOVATIVE STRATEGIES TO DRIVE IMPROVED HEALTH OUTCOMES AND ECONOMIC GAINS TO SOCIETY.MICHAEL DOWLING, CEO OF NORTHWELL HEALTH, OPENED THE FORUM CHARACTERIZING THE MEETING AS A "PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN TWO EXTRAORDINARY ORGANIZATIONS. ONE LED BY EXTRAORDINARY LEADER CAROLEE LEE AND NORTHWELL'S KATZ INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN'S HEALTH LED BY DR. STACEY ROSEN WITH THE EXTRAORDINARY VISION AND SUPPORT OF IRIS AND SAUL KATZ. TWO ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE A VERY COMMON MISSION. THAT IS THE ISSUE OF WOMEN'S HEALTH. ENHANCING THE FOCUS ON WOMEN'S HEALTH. THE UNIQUENESS OF WOMEN'S HEALTH. THE IMPORTANCE OF LOOKING AT EVERY ASPECT OF WOMEN'S HEALTH. THE ACCESS TO CARE. THE RESEARCH THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE ON WOMEN'S HEALTH."THE EVENT INCLUDED A LINEUP OF ESTEEMED PANELISTS AND SPEAKERS, WITH FOUR ENGAGING SESSIONS DESIGNED TO ADDRESS CRITICAL ASPECTS OF WOMEN'S HEALTH RESEARCH AND INVESTMENT.
