BARRIO VIEJO ELDERLY HOUSING, INC., AN ARIZONA NON-PROFIT CORPORATION WAS ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES WITH A SINGLE MISSION TO DEVELOP, OWN AND OPERATE 62 UNITS OF SUBSIDIZED HOUSING FOR VERY-LOW INCOME ELDERLY AND ELDERLY HANDICAPPED PERSONS UNDER HUD'S SECTION 202 SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR ELDERLY PROGRAM. THE HOUSING FACILITIES AND SERVICES ARE SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO MEET THE PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL NEEDS, AND TO PROMOTE THE HEALTH, SECURITY, HAPPINESS AND USEFULNESS OF THE RESIDENTS IN LONGER LIVING, THE CHARGES FOR SUCH FACILITIES AND SERVICES TO BE PREDICATED UPON THE PROVISION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION THEREOF ON A NON-PROFIT BASIS. TO QUALIFY FOR OCCUPANCY, RESIDENTS MUST BE AT LEAST 62 YEARS OF AGE, OR OLDER, AND HAVE INCOME LEVELS AT OR BELOW 50% OF THE AREA MEDIAN.

BARRIO VEIJO ELDERLY HOUSING, INC. IS A SINGLE-PURPOSE 501(C)(3) TAX EXEMPT ORGANIZATION. THE ORGANIZATION DEVELOPED AND CONTINUES TO OPERATE 62 UNITS OF HOUSING UNDER HUD'S SECTION 202 SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR ELDERLY PROGRAM. THE 62 UNITS ARE OCCUPIED BY VERY LOW-INCOME ELDERLY FAMILIES THAT QUALIFY AS VERY LOW INCOME; THOSE WHO ARE AT LEAST 62 YEARS OF AGE AND WHOSE INCOME LEVELS ARE AT OR BELOW 50% OF AREA MEDIAN. THE 62 UNITS ALSO CARRY PROJECT RENTAL ASSISTANCE (PRAC); QUALIFIED TENANTS PAY ONLY 1/3 OF THEIR ADJUSTED MONTHLY INCOME TOWARD RENT AND UTILITIES.
