RESEARCH: SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 1993, THE ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH AND PREVENTION FOUNDATION HAS FUNDED OVER $2 MILLION IN DIRECT ALZHEIMER'S PREVENTION RESEARCH. THE FOUNDATION HAS A $1 MILLION BOARD DESIGNATED FUND FOR FUTURE RESEARCH. IN 2023, WE CHAMPIONED THE PREVENTION OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE BY CONTINUING RESEARCH IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FINGER STUDY, THE LARGEST PREVENTION STUDY IN THE WORLD. WE ALSO CONTINUED TO PUBLISH RESULTS IN LEADING SCIENTIFIC, PEER-REVIEWED JOURNALS, ESPECIALLY A NEW BREAKTHROUGH PAPER ABOUT OUR PINK BRAIN PROJECT STUDY, TITLED " IMPACT OF YOGA VERSUS MEMORY ENHANCEMENT TRAINING ON HIPPOCAMPAL CONNECTIVITY IN OLDER WOMEN AT RISK FOR ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE." OUR PRESIDENT, DR. KHALSA, ALSO SERVED AS PREVENTION EDITOR FOR THE JOURNAL OF ALZHEIMER'S PREVENTION, WORKING ON PREVENTION-RELATED SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES.THIS YEAR, THE ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH AND PREVENTION FOUNDATION EXPANDED ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH BY CREATING THE YOGA ADVISORY COUNCIL, AIMED AT EXPANDING AWARENESS AND TO FORMALLY RECOGNIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF YOGA IN OPTIMAL BRAIN HEALTH AND HEALTHY AGING.OUTREACH: IN 2023, THE ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH AND PREVENTION FOUNDATION (ARPF) CELEBRATED ITS 30TH ANNIVERSARY BY HOLDING 30 ONLINE EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND ONE IN-PERSON CONFERENCE ON THE GLIMPSE OF THE FUTURE OF ALZHEIMER'S PREVENTION IN PHOENIX, AZ. GEARED TO HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS AND PROVIDING CMES AND CES, THE CONFERENCE ALSO WELCOMED CAREGIVERS AND ANYONE INTERESTED IN IMPROVING THEIR OWN BRAIN HEALTH TO PREVENT ALZHEIMER'S. PUBLICATIONS: EDUCATION IS A PRIORITY FOR ARPF. IN 2023, WE PUBLISHED A NEW WHITE PAPER TITLED "THE LEADING RESEARCH ON THE PREVENTION OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE AND BEGAN EXTENSIVE WORK ON A NEW BOOK, A 30TH ANNIVERSARY REPORT, AND THE UPDATE OF THE BRAIN LONGEVITY THERAPY TRAINING. PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS: ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH AND PREVENTION FOUNDATION'S BRAIN LONGEVITY THERAPY TRAINING PROVIDED TRAINING FOR ALLIED HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, CAREGIVERS AND LAYPEOPLE. THIS BREAKTHROUGH CERTIFICATION PROGRAM PROVIDES HANDS-ON EDUCATION THAT HELPS TO PREVENT ALZHEIMER'S, AS WELL AS CONTINUING EDUCATION AND SUPPORT TO ALL THE GRADUATES. OUR GOAL IS TO EMPOWER PROFESSIONALS WHO CAN THEN SHARE WITH THEIR COMMUNITIES THE SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN MODALITIES TO KEEP THEIR BRAIN SHARP AS THEY AGE.IN 2023, WE RECEIVED INCREASING VOLUNTEER HELP, TOTALING APPROXIMATELY 2,500 HOURS. WHILE WORLD EVENTS CONTRIBUTED TO UNCERTAINTY AND STRESS IN THE US AND INDEED AROUND THE WORLD, WE AT ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH AND PREVENTION FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO BRING SUPPORT, HOPE, EDUCATION AND CARE TO ALL PEOPLE WHO TUNED IN TO OUR PROGRAMS.
