YAVAPAI FIREWISE WORKS TO REDUCE WILDFIRE RISK IN YAVAPAI COUNTY COMMUNITIES THROUGH EDUCATION AND JOINT EFFORTS AMONG NEIGHBORHOODS AND RELEVANT AGENCIES.

FIRE FUEL MITIGATION ACTIVITIES INCLUDING BEING AN INTERMEDIARY AND ADMINISTRATOR FOR FEDERAL AND AZ FUEL MITIGATION GRANTS AND COMMUNITY RECIPIENTS. MORE THAN 65 PROPERTIES WERE MITIGATED DURING THE YEAR.


PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY EDUCATION EVENTS, INCLUDING AN EARTH DAY EXPO (+500 PARTICIPANTS), YAVAPAI COUNTY HOME AND GARDEN SHOW (+15,000 IN ATTENDANCE WITH MORE THAN 250 DIRECT ENCOUNTERS), AND FIREWISE PREPAREDNESS DAYS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY (+500 DIRECT ENCOUNTERS). NUMEROUS KINDS OF BROCHURES ARE DISTRIBUTED AT THESE EVENTS AS WELL AS TO FIREWISE COMMUNITIES EXPLAINING FIRE DANGERS AND HOW TO MINIMIZE THEIR IMPACT AND STAY SAFE.


PROVIDE 9 MEETINGS PER YEAR FOR MEMBERSHIP AND THE PUBLIC TO COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER AND PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CURRENT FIRE DANGERS, LEARN ABOUT WEATHER AND FIRE IMPACTS, AND EXCHANGE INFORMATION ON VARIOUS FIRE RELATED TOPICS. ATTENDANCE AVERAGES ABOUT 50 PEOPLE IN PERSON AND ONLINE.
