THE GREATER FLORENCE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OPERATES A VISITOR CENTER AT MCFARLAND STATE HISTORIC PARK. IN 2022 THE VISITOR CENTER SERVED 9,000 INDIVIDUALS - 5,319 IN-STATE VISITORS, 2,924 OUT-OF-STATE VISITORS, AND 757 INTERNATIONAL VISITORS. THE VISITOR CENTER SERVES AS AN INITIAL INTRODUCTION TO FLORENCE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, PROVIDING INFORMATION - BOTH TOURISM-RELATED AND RE-LOCATION INFORMATION PACKETS - FREE OF CHARGE. FOR A SMALL ADDITIONAL ENTRANCE FEE VISITORS MAY CHOOSE TO SELF-TOUR MCFARLAND STATE HISTORIC PARK, THE ORIGINAL PINAL COUNTY COURTHOUSE THAT WAS BUILT IN 1878 FROM ADOBE BRICKS AND LUMBER HAULED FROM NORTHERN ARIZONA. EXHIBITS ALLOW VISITORS TO SEE AND FEEL FOR THEMSELVES THE HISTORY OF FLORENCE AND THE PEOPLE WHO HELPED SHAPE IT. IN 2022, 7,592 VISITORS TOURED MCFARLAND STATE HISTORIC PARK.
THE GREATER FLORENCE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOSTED THE MEMORIES ON MAIN CLASSICS AND CUSTOMS CAR AND BIKE SHOW; A ONE DAY ONLY EVENT. APPROXIMATELY 400 EXHIBITORS FROM AROUND THE US PARKED THEIR CLASSIC AND CUSTOM RIDES ON HISTORIC MAIN STREET IN DOWNTOWN FLORENCE AND SHOWED THEM OFF TO THE ESTIMATED 3,500 SPECTATORS. IN ADDITION TO THE CAR SHOW, THE ATTENDEES WERE ENTERTAINED WITH LIVE MUSIC AND HAD AMPLE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOP AND EAT WITH THE VARIOUS VENDORS AND MAIN STREET STOREFRONT BUSINESSES AND RESTAURANTS. DRAWING A CROWD OF APPROXIMATELY 4,000 TO DOWNTOWN HISTORIC FLORENCE WAS OF GREAT ECONOMIC BENEFIT TO FLORENCE BUSINESS OWNERS. IN ADDITION, MANY ATTENDEES WERE FIRST-TIME VISITORS TO FLORENCE SO THIS WAS AN OPPORTUNITY TO INTRODUCE THEM TO FLORENCE BUSINESSES THAT THEY MAY CHOOSE TO COME PATRONIZE AGAIN IN FUTURE.
