THE MISSION OF THE SPANISH COLONIAL ARTS SOCIETY IS TO PRESERVE THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HISPANIC NEW MEXICO AND ITS LIVING TRADITIONS.

OUR MUSEUM OF SPANISH COLONIAL ART REMAINED OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND WE CONTINUED OUR ADMISSION PROGRAM WITH THE FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH FREE TO NEW MEXICO RESIDENTS AND YOUTH ALWAYS FREE. OUR EXHIBIT "TRAILS, RAILS AND HIGHWAYS: HOW TRADE TRANSFORMED THE ART OF NEW MEXICO" FEATURED OBJECTS FROM OUR COLLECTION SPANNING CENTURIES AND THREE GALLERIES DEDICATED TO LIVING SPANISH MARKET ARTISTS. IN OUR ONGOING EFFORT TO SERVE AS A RESOURCE FOR THE PUBLIC, WE OFFERED TOURS OF OUR MUSEUM AND OUR COLLECTION AND WE ALSO HELD VARIOUS ARTS CLASSES AND DEMONSTRATIONS WITH A FOCUS ON TRADITIONAL NEW MEXICAN ART FORMS.


WE HOSTED OUR 70TH TRADITIONAL SPANISH MARKET ON THE HISTORIC SANTA FE PLAZA. THIS IS AN EVENT FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, SERVING OUR IMMEDIATE COMMUNITY AND TOURISTS ALIKE. THIS CULTURAL HERITAGE EVENT CELEBRATES THE HISPANIC ARTISTIC LEGACY OF NEW MEXICO WITH OVER 100 ARTISTS PARTICIPATING AS WELL AS LIVE MUSIC AND FOOD VENDORS.
