THE FOOD PANTRY SERVES 600 PEOPLE PER MONTH. IN ADDITION THE PANTRY PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY 27,000 POUNDS OF FOOD MONTHLY TO OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY. FRESH PRODUCE IS OFTEN AVAILABLE. THE PANTRY PROVIDES DIAPERS AND HYGIENE SUPPLIES.
JOBS FOR LIFE IS A CLASS FOCUSED ON SOFT SKILLS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT. EACH STUDENT IS SUPPORTED BY A MENTOR THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM TO WALK ALONG SIDE OF THEM DURING THIS TRANSFORMATIONAL TIME. TWO SESSIONS OF EIGHT-WEEK CLASSES WERE HELD IN 2021. 70% OF THE GRADUATES SUCCEED IN INPROVING THEIR EMPLOYMENT CIRCUMSTANCES.
THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES A TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM FOR WOMEN COMING FROM PRISION OR RECOVERY. THIS YEAR A SECOND PROPERTY WAS ADDED SO A TOTAL OF 6 WOMEN CAN NOW BE SERVED. THE PROGRAM HAS STRICT RULES AND EXPECTATIONS. APPROXIMATELY 50% OF THE WOMEN COMPLETE THE PROGRAM AND MAINTAIN EMPLOYMENT AND ARE ABLE TO OBTAIN INDEPENDENT LIVING ARRANGEMENTS WHEN THEIR PROGRAM IS COMPLETE.
THIS TOTAL IS COMPRISED OF THREE ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS. THE LIFE CHANGE PLAN IS AN INTENSIVE CLASS WHERE STUDENTS FOCUS ON SPIRITUAL PRACTICES AND SELF REFLECTION AS A MEANS TO ADDRESSS BARRIERS IN THEIR LIFE AND MAKING SIGNIFICANT CHANGES. FAITH AND FIANCES IS A PERSONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT CLASS WITH A CHRISTIAN FAITH PERSPECTIVE. THE THIRD MINISTRY IS A SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP WITH A LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
