THROUGH THE EFFORTS OF FALMOUTHNET, THE FALMOUTH TOWN MEETING TWICE VOTED TO ESTABLISH A MUNICIPAL LIGHT PLANT. THE FIRST ELECTION OF 5 INDIVIDUALS TO THE MUNICIPAL LIGHT BOARD OCCURRED IN MAY 2023. THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 32,000 RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN. ACCESS TO HIGH SPEED FIBER IN TOWN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. IT IS THE TASK NOW OF THE MUNICIPAL LIGHT BOARD TO ESTABLISH AND RUN A MUNICIPAL UTILITY. THE JOB OF FALMOUTHNET WILL CONTINUE TO BE ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION.
