HEALTH TECH ALLEY, INC.'S (HTA) MISSION IS TO ENABLE SOLUTIONS AND SERVICES TO MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES AND THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT SERVE THEM. HTA HAS THE PARTICULAR INTENT TO CATALYZE ECONOMIC MOBILITY FOR UNDERESTIMATED POPULATIONS AND COMMUNITIES OF COLOR, ADDRESS WORKFORCE BARRIERS, AND ADVOCATE FOR SOLUTIONS THAT ADDRESS SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH (SDOH).

HEALTH TECH ALLEY COMPLETED THE DELIVERY OF THE SPRINT CHALLENGE GRANT, AN AWARD FROM THE US FEDERAL EDA OFFICE OF INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP. HTA WAS SUBSEQUENTLY AWARDED TWO ADDITIONAL GRANTS FROM THE STATE OF MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF LABOR. HTA SPRINT CHALLENGE INCLUDED DEVELOPMENT OF A SPRINT PARTNER-CUSTOMER COLLABORATIVE ROSTER OF 25+ ORGANIZATIONS THAT SPAN PROGRAMMING ACROSS HEALTH TECHNOLOGY IMPLEMENTATION, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN AND COMMUNITIES OF COLOR. AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PORTFOLIO OF ELEVEN (11) COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES (CEIS), WITH ONE INITIATIVE COMPRISED OF FIVE ADDITIONAL MICRO TECH-EQUITY PROJECTS LED BY HBCU STUDENT FELLOWS AT MORGAN STATE, BOWIE STATE AND HOWARD UNIVERSITY.
PROVIDED KEY TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL IMPLEMENTATION ACTIVITIES, SUCH AS TELEHEALTH PRACTICES, ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD MANAGEMENT, DIGITAL HEALTH LITERACY, ETC., AND ADDRESS FRONT LINE HEALTH ORGANIZATION'S RESOURCE GAPS. A DIRECT OUTCOME IS ENABLING SMALLER PROVIDERS TO OPERATE MORE EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY IN PROVIDING CRITICAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO UNDER-RESOURCED COMMUNITIES. THIS INCLUDED ENGAGEMENTS WITH WHITMAN-WALKER HEALTH, GRASSROOTS CRISIS INTERVENTION, VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA CHESAPEAKE, MEDCHI, MARYLAND'S PHYSICIAN-BASED STATE ADVOCACY SOCIETY. ENGAGED ORGANIZATIONS WITH A REACH INTO THE COMMUNITY THAT SPANS OVER 200,000 MEMBERS, CLIENTS, AND PARTNERS.
85% OF THOSE WE DIRECTLY ENGAGED FOR SERVICES TO ENABLE OUR PROGRAMMING WERE WOMEN AND PEOPLE OF COLOR INCLUDING MORE THAN A DOZEN ENTREPRENEURS, HELPING BRING THEIR IDEAS AND INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO THE MARKETPLACE. DEVELOPED INNOVATIVE HEALTHCARE CAREER FUNDAMENTALS PROGRAMMING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND MEDICAL CENTER, DRUID HEIGHTS CDC, AND THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND CEC, PASS IT ON AND HOWARD COMMUNITY COLLEGE. 200 TOTAL PARTICIPANTS ACROSS TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS WITH DOZENS OF FOUNDER-ENTREPRENEURS SERVED.
