OPENCLIMATE - OPENCLIMATE IS AN OPEN SOURCE AND DIGITALLY INTEGRATED CLIMATE ACCOUNTING SYSTEM DESIGNED TO HELP THE WORLD ACHIEVE THE EMISSION REDUCTION TARGETS SET BY THE PARIS AGREEMENT. ITS PURPOSE IS TO REMOVE FRICTION BETWEEN DIFFERENT STANDARDS, REDUCING DOUBLE COUNTING AND CATALYSING COORDINATION TOWARDS CLIMATE GOALS. WE PRESENTED THE FIRST FULL PROTOTYPE CLIMATE ACCOUNTING SYSTEM AT THE COP26 AND DEPLOYED A PILOT OF OUR OPENCLIMATE PLATFORM WITH THE BRITISH COLUMBIA GOVERNMENT.
ALL OTHER - OUR OCEAN PROGRAM DESIGNED A DRAFT SYSTEM FOR MARINE ECOSYSTEM CREDITS FOR FINANCING MARINE PROTECTED AREAS, WITH A CASE STUDY IN COSTA RICA AND CORRESPONDING WHITE PAPER. WE'VE BEEN WORKING TO CREATE AN INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN THAT CAN INCREASE CONSERVATION FINANCE THROUGH TRANSPARENT NATURAL CAPITAL ACCOUNTING IN OCEANS, AND MAINTAIN HIGH BIODIVERSITY LEVELS. WE ALSO HAVE BEEN EXPLORING HOW NATURAL CAPITAL CAN EXTEND TO INNOVATIONS IN MONETARY SYSTEMS FOR NATURE RICH GLOBAL SOUTH COUNTRIES. OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNITED NATIONS FRAMEWORK CONVENTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE IS SUPPORTING THE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE UNFCCC GLOBAL INNOVATION HUB, OR UGIH. IN COLLABORATION WITH UC BERKELEY AND CHAINLINK LABS, WE LAUNCHED AN INNOVATIVE SUITE OF DIGITAL CARBON PRICING TOOLS TO TRANSFORM THE WAY COMPANIES AND GOVERNMENTS ENGAGE WITH CLIMATE CHANGE LIABILITIES.
OPENEARTH LAB - AS A RESEARCH AND DEPLOYMENT CLIMATE TECH NONPROFIT, THE OPENEARTH LAB IS WHERE INNOVATION ACROSS ALL PROJECTS OCCURS. THE LAB SUPPORTS COLLABORATION AMONG EXISTING PROJECTS AND IS WHERE NEW INNOVATIVE IDEAS EMERGE THAT WILL HELP OPEN EARTH FOUNDATION MOVE THE NEEDLE IN OUR MISSION AND DEVELOP NEW PROGRAMS.
CITYCATALYST - CITYCATALYST IS AN OPEN-SOURCE DIGITAL PRODUCT UTILIZING ADVANCED DATA TECHNIQUES TO ASSIST CITIES IN COMPILING AND MANAGING THEIR GHG INVENTORIES. BY ADDRESSING THE CHALLENGES OF COLLECTING, CALCULATING, AND MANAGING CLIMATE DATA, THIS SYSTEM STREAMLINES THE CREATION OF EFFECTIVE CLIMATE ACTION PLANS, HELPING CITIES TO FOCUS MORE RESOURCES ON EMISSIONS MITIGATION EFFORTS.
