Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

OUR ORGANIZATION EXISTS TO CREATE POSITIVE CULTURAL CHANGE IN ORDER TO REDUCE SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER AMONG YOUTH AND ADULTS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, TN. WE USE A MULTIFACETED APPROACH OF PREVENTION EDUCATION, DE-STIGMATIZATION, AND COMMUNITY AND RESOURCE CONNECTION.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN THE AVENUE OF OUR RESOURCE CONNECTION, THROUGH OUR TBI ALLIANCE FOR DRUG ENDANGERED CHILDREN'S PROGRAM, WE BEGAN A PROJECT IN JANUARY 2023 CALLED GRACE HOUSE, WHERE WE UTILIZED COMMUNITY DONATIONS TO PROVIDE CHILDREN IN DCS CARE WITH THE BASIC NECESSITIES THEY NEED DURING THE TRANSITION PROCESS, AS WELL AS THE ITEMS THEY AND THEIR NEW FOSTER FAMILIES WILL NEED TO START OFF ON THE RIGH FOOT WHEN THEY BEGIN THEIR NEW LIFE. WE DID THIS BECAUSE IN TN SOUTH CENTRAL REGION, LAWRENCE COUNTY HAS THE HIGHEST NUMBERS FOR CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE / DCS CUSTODY. WE PARTNERED WITH OUR JUVENILE MAGISTRATE, LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, CHURCHES, CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS, LOCAL BUSINESSES, AND MANY CITIZEN VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WRAP AROUND SERVICES AND NEEDS FOR THE STUDENTS, FAMILIES, AND EVENT THE OVER WORKED DCS STAFF. OUR HOPE IS THAT WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR, GRACE HOUSE OF LAWRENCE COUNTY TN WILL BECOME ITS OWN 501C3 NON-PROFIT ENTITY, SO IT CAN FURTHER EXPAND ITS SERVICES.

THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE FINISHED OUT A NEW PROJECT CALLED GRACE HOUSE, THAT PROVIDES BASIC NECESSITIES AND RESOURCES FOR CHILDREN WHO COME INTO DCS CARE. THIS BROUGHT IN THE MAJORITY SHARE OF DONATIONS OVER THE TIME FRAME. GRACE HOUSE OF LAWRENCE COUNTY TN WILL BEGAN WORKING ON ITS OWN 501C3 NON-PROFIT STATUS AT THE LATTER PART OF THIS REPORTING PERIOD AND SHOULD BE FULLY ON ITS OWN BY THE NEXT.
