NATIONAL DEA PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKEBACKS: PARNTERING WITH LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT, COMMUNITY ORGAIZATIONS, AND VOLUNTEERS TO LOWER THE ACCESSIBILITY OF PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION IN THE COUNTY. AT THE APRIL 2022 DRUG TAKEBACK, 430 LBS OF UNUSED MEDICATION WAS COLLECTED. PROMOTION OF PROPER DRUG DISPOSAL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR INCLUDING PROMOTION OF PERMANENT DROP BOX LOCATIONS AND DISTRIBUTION OF FREE HOME MEDICATION LOCK BOXES. INCREASED AWARENESS OF RISK OF UNDERAGE ALCOHOL USE THOUGH VIRTUAL REALITY DRIVING SIMULATIONS AND ONLINE EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS. HOSTED MONTHLY AND QUARTERLY MEETINGS TO SHARE RESOURCES ABOUT SERVICES AVAILABLE IN THE COUNTY.
TN SAVE A LIFE - FIRST RESPONDER PROGRAM TRAINED 1,146 FIRST RESPONDERS IN A 14 COUNTY AREA. FIRST RESPONDERS REFERRED 578 INDIVIDUALS TO CARE COORDINATORS FOR PEER SUPPORT AND REFERRAL TO THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.
CONTINUED OPERATIONS OF THE SAFE BABY COURT PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE RUTHERFORD COUNTY JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM. EXPANDED THE FAMILY PRESERVATION INITIATIVE THROUGH A NEW FUNDING SOURCE AND ADDED A FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST.
