THIS ORGANIZATION'S MISSION STATEMENT IS "GIVING BACK TO THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO GIVE THEIR ALL".

BENEFIT FOR THE FAMILY OF OFFICER RYAN HAYWORTH, KNIGHTDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT - FUNDRAISING WAS CONDUCTED FOR THE FAMILY OF KNIGHTDALE POLICE OFFICER RYAN HAYWORTH, WHO WAS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY ON OCTOBER 17, 2021 AFTER BEING STRUCK BY AN INTOXICATED DRIVER DURING ANOTHER TRAFFIC ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION. HE WAS SURVIVED BY HIS FATHER, MOTHER, AND BROTHER. ON JANUARY 19, 2022 REPRESENTATIVES FROM BACK THE BLUE NC, INC. PRESENTED A TOTAL OF $26,500 AND A MEMORIAL PLAQUE ($50 VALUE) TO THE FATHER OF OFC. HAYWORTH AT THE KNIGHTDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT. A MEMORIAL PLAQUE ($50 VALUE) WAS ALSO PRESENTED TO AND RECEIVED BY CHIEF CAPPS ON BEHALF OF THE KNIGHTDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE LONG-TERM GOAL OF THIS FUNDRAISER WAS TO ALLOW THE FATHER OF OFC. HAYWORTH TO PAY OFF THE REMAINING LOAN ON OFC. HAYWORTH'S TRUCK AND GIFT IT TO RYAN'S BROTHER, AS WELL AS HANDLE ANY OTHER COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FUNERAL AND/OR MEMORIAL SERVICES.
BENEFIT FOR FAMILY OF POLICE OFFICER MIA GOODWIN, CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT - FUNDRAISING WAS CONDUCTED FOR THE FAMILY OF CMPD OFFICER MIA GOODWIN WHO WAS KILLED WHEN A TRACTOR-TRAILER STRUCK HER PATROL CAR DURING THE INVESTIGATION OF ANOTHER VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON DECEMBER 22, 2021. SHE WAS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND AND THREE CHILDREN AGES 3, 1, AND 4 MONTHS. ON JANUARY 25, 2022 THE HUSBAND OF OFC. GOODWIN, MR. BRENT GOODWIN, RECEIVED $185,805.58 VIA DIRECT DEPOSIT TO HIS ACCOUNT AND POLITELY DECLINED AN OFFICIAL PRESENTATION WITH THE CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT. HE AND THE CHIEF OF CMPD HAVE BEEN DELIVERED MEMORIAL PLAQUES (2 TOTAL, $50 VALUE EACH). THE LONG-TERM GOAL OF THIS FUNDRAISER IS TO ENSURE THAT MR. GOODWIN CAN PROVIDE FOR THEIR THREE YOUNG CHILDREN AS HE SEES FIT (HOUSING, FOOD, CLOTHING, EDUCATION, AND OTHER BASIC NEEDS), ESPECIALLY WITH THE LOSS OF OFC. MIA GOODWIN'S SALARY.
BENEFIT FOR FAMILY OF TROOPER JOHN HORTON, NORTH CAROLINA STATE HIGHWAY PATROL - FUNDRAISING WAS CONDUCTED FOR THE SURVIVING WIFE AND CHILDREN OF NCSHP TROOPER JOHN HORTON WHO WAS STRUCK AND KILLED BY ANOTHER RESPONDING TROOPER DURING A TRAFFIC STOP ON JANUARY 3, 2022. TROOPER HORTON HAD DETAINED THE DRIVER OF A MOTORCYCLE AND WAS STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY WITH THE SUBJECT. ANOTHER TROOPER ARRIVING ON THE SCENE TO BACK HIM UP LOST CONTROL OF HIS PATROL CAR AND COLLIDED WITH TROOPER HORTON'S PATROL CAR, WHICH WAS THEN PUSHED INTO TROOPER HORTON AND THE DETAINED SUBJECT. THE DETAINED SUBJECT DIED AT THE SCENE, AND TROOPER HORTON DIED AFTER BEING TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL IN SPARTANBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA. TROOPER HORTON WAS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE AND SIX CHILDREN. ON APRIL 25, 2022 MEMBERS OF BACK THE BLUE NC PROVIDED THE WIFE OF FALLEN TROOPER JOHN HORTON, ASHLEY HORTON, WITH A MONETARY DONATION OF $92,000. IN ADDITION TO THE CHECK, THE ORGANIZATION PRESENTED TWO WOODEN PLAQUES ($50 VALUE EACH), ONE TO THE HORTON FAMILY AND ONE TO THE DISTRICT OFFICE (TROOP G) WHERE HORTON WAS STATIONED. THE LONG-TERM GOAL OF THIS FUNDRAISER IS TO ENSURE THAT MRS. HORTON IS ABLE TO CARE FOR THEIR SIX CHILDREN AND PROVIDE THEIR NECESSITIES (HOUSING, FOOD, CLOTHING, EDUCATION, ETC.)
