THE MISSION OF THE CORPORATION IS TO PROMOTE HEALTH, EDUCATE THE PUBLIC, PROVIDE RELIEF TO THE POOR AND DISTRESSED, LESSEN THE BURDENS OF GOVERNMENT, AND COMBAT COMMUNITY DETERIORATION BY SERVING AS A STATEWIDE RESOURCE THAT (1) OFFERS FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES ACROSS THE STATE, (2) ENGAGES IN RESEARCH AND EDUCATION THAT IS MADE PUBLICLY AVAILABLE, AND (3) DEVELOPS AND ENCOURAGES COLLABORATIONS THAT ACCOMPLISH CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES THROUGH RESOURCE-SHARING, LEARNING, AND NETWORKING.

VIRGINIA'S FUNDER NETWORK (VFN) - THE CORPORATION WILL OPERATE AS A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ENGAGE INDIVIDUALS, CORPORATIONS, AND PHILANTHROPIC FUNDERS IN VIRGINIA AS DUES-PAYING MEMBERS. MEMBERS WILL BE FOCUSED ON ACCOMPLISHING A SHARED VISION TO ENHANCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PHILANTHROPIC INITIATIVES IN VIRGINIA THROUGH NETWORKING, COLLABORATION, LEARNING AND LEVERAGING OF RESOURCES. NATIONAL FOUNDATIONS HAVE, AT VARIOUS TIMES, EXPRESSED INTEREST IN PURSUING THEIR GRANT-MAKING OBJECTIVES MORE BROADLY IN VIRGINIA.
