PRAIRIE ROSE DEVELOPMENT SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED A STATEWIDE KIVA HUB FOR COLORADO IN MID 2021 AND 2022 WAS THE FIRST FULL YEAR OF OPERATIONS. KIVA IS A CROWD-FUNDED 0% INTEREST RATE SMALL BUSINESS LOAN PROGRAM (LOANS IN THE RANGE OF $1,000 TO $15,000) FOR OTHERWISE FINANCIALLY EXCLUDED ENTREPRENEURS LOOKING TO CREATE SOCIALLY IMPACTFUL SMALL BUSINESSES THAT HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CREATE JOBS IN THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES. TWO PART-TIME BILINGUAL CAPITAL ACCESS MANAGERS PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND FUNDING HELP TO MORE THAN 400 EXISTING AND POTENTIAL SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS. THIRTY-SIX LOANS TOTALING $275,000 WERE FUNDED IN 2022 BY MORE THAN 7,000 INDIVIDUAL LENDERS. SEVENTY-TWO PERCENT OF ALL LOANS WERE MADE TO WOMAN-OWNED BUSINESSES AND MORE THAN 50% OF ALL LOANS GO TO BIPOC AND MINORITY OWNED FIRMS.
