THE COLORADO GOVERNORS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM WAS FOUNDED TO IMPLEMENT THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES OF THE LEADERS INITIATIVE, WHICH WORKS AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND NONPROFIT COMMUNITIES TO ENGAGE LEADERS IN APPLYING THEIR SKILLS ACROSS SECTORS. THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM OPERATES ON THE PREMISE THAT GOVERNMENT IS ONLY AS GOOD AS WHO IS IN IT, AND THAT THE BEST EXECUTIVES FROM THE PRIVATE AND NONPROFIT SECORS CAN ELEVATE THE BRAND OF GOVERNMENT BY APPLYING THEIR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO THE PUBLIC SECTOR.
