Part 3
OUR MISSION IS TO CREATE LASTING SOLUTIONS THAT ENSURE THE SAFE USE OF CANNABIS IN PETS THROUGH EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND PROMOTING PRODUCT STANDARDS. TO THIS END, IN 2023, OUR PRIMARY FOCUS WAS CREATING, PRODUCING, AND PRESENTING THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE, UP-TO-DATE VETERINARY MEDICINAL CANNABIS CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSE AVAILABLE FOR VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS. THIS RACE-APPROVED (REGISTRY OF APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION) 7-MODULE COURSE, CONCEPTUALIZED BY THE VCS EDUCATION COMMITTEE, BROUGHT TOGETHER SOME OF THE MOST ACCOMPLISHED VETERINARIANS WORKING IN THIS FIELD. WE PARTNERED WITH THE LARGEST ONLINE EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM FOR VETERINARIANS, VIN.COM, TO PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION TO PROFESSIONALS NATIONWIDE. IN ADDITION, VCS HAS ALSO MADE THIS CONTENT AVAILABLE TO THEIR MEMBERSHIP, WHICH INCLUDES NON-VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS. IN ADDITION, OUR QUARTERLY ADVOCACY REVIEW NEWSLETTER WAS CREATED, "THE LEGAL BEAGLE." THIS NEWSLETTER SUMMARIZES ALL THE ONGOING VETERINARY CANNABIS RELATED REGULATORY AND LEGISLATIVE ACTIONS THAT ARE HAPPENING THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. THE ADVOCACY COMMITTEE ALSO PROVIDES INSIGHT AS TO VCS' POSITION ON THE VARIOUS BILLS AND THE POTENTIAL REPERCUSSIONS TO THE INDUSTRY. THESE ACCOMPLISHMENTS HAVE HELPED GROW OUR MEMBERSHIP OF VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS, PET PARENTS, AND PRODUCT MANUFACTURERS TO 149 STRONG. WE ARE CONTINUING TO EXPAND OUR SCHOLARSHIP, EXTERNSHIP, AND RESEARCH PROGRAMS, WHILE COLLECTING DATA AND PERFORMING DUE-DILIGENCE TO LAUNCH OUR VET SCHOOL OUTREACH AND SEAL OF APPROVAL PROGRAMS IN THE COMING YEAR.
