ABW INC HAS INCREASED THE ENGAGEMENT OF ADULTS WITH SUBSTANCE USE DISODER INTO RECOVERY HOUSING AND SERVICES. ABW INC. HAS INCREASED THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS WITH SUSTANCE USE DISORDER RECEIVING MEDICATION ASSISTANT TREASTMENT (MAT) TO DECREASE ILLICIT OPIOD DRUG USE AND PRESCRIPTION OPIOD MISUE AMONG PARTICIPANTS AND PROVIDES HOUSING TO 25 ADULT MALES. ABW INC. WILL CONTINUE ITS WORK TO INCREASE NORTHERN OHIO'S EFFORTS TO IMPROVE THE ACCESSIBILITY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF TREATMENT/HOUSING AND RECOVERY SUPPORTS FOR ADULTS WHO HAVE AN OPIATE USE DISORDER OR STIMULANT USE, THEREBY FACILITATING SUSTAINED RECOVERY IN ADULTS RECEIVING TREATMENT FOR OPIATE, STIMULANT USE DISORDER. THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE: 1) HOUSING AND GENERAL CARE 2) LINKAGES TO CLINICAL AND THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT SUCH AS MENTAL HEALTH AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH COUNSELING, SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT, 3) ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING 4) LINKAGE TO MAT. ABW INC HAS PROVIDED OVER 25 BEDS A YEAR TO ALLOW FOR INDIVIDUALS TO RESIDE IN A STRUCTURED AND SOBER ENVIRONMENT. RECOVERY HOUSING FOCUSES ON ADULT MEN OVER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS WITH PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OPIATE AND STIMULANT USE DISORDERS WHO HAVE RECEIVED DETOXIFICATION SERVICES FROM DETOX, TREATMENT CENTERS, HOSPITALS AND NEED RECOVERY HOUSING. THE PROJECT WILL TARGET THE NORTHERN AREA OF OHIO FROM THE POPULOUS CITY OF CLEVELAND (CUYAHOGA COUNTY). CLEVELAND IS THE SECOND LARGEST CITY IN OHIO, WITH 396,815 RESIDENTS. 1 THE CLEAR MAJORITY ARE BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN (53%) OR WHITE/CAUCASIAN (32%).PEOPLE OF HISPANIC OR LATINO DESCENT COMPRISE 11% OF THE POPULATION. CLEVELAND HAS THE DISTINCTION OF BEING ONE OF THE POOREST CITIES IN THE NATION, WITH AN INDIVIDUAL POVERTY RATE OF 39%.
