THE GOAL OF THE KUMEYAAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE IS TO CREATE A PROGRAM OF SUPERIOR EDUCATION AND ACADEMIC TRAINING THROUGH NATIVE PEOPLE'S WORLD VIEW WITH AN EMPHASIS ON THE KUMEYAAY PERSPECTIVE. KUMEYAAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE OFFERS A RANGE OF PROGRAM SERVICES TO ENRICH THE CULTURAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION OF ITS PARTICIPANTS. EVENING CULTURAL EVENTS ARE HELD REGULARLY, PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY TO ENGAGE WITH AND LEARN ABOUT KUMEYAAY TRADITIONS AND HERITAGE. THESE EVENTS ARE HELD MONTHLY. MEALS ARE ORGANIZED AS PART OF THE PROGRAM, FOSTERING A SENCE OF COMMUNITY AND CONNECTION AMONG PARTICIPANTS. THESE EVENTS ARE TRIED TO THE HUMANITIES COURSES, FORMING AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CURRICULUM AND PROVIDING ADDITIONAL ENRICHMENT TO STUDENTS.
