AT REBUILDING TOGETHER SANDOVAL COUNTY, WE MAKE ESSENTIAL HOME REPAIRS TO HELP OUR LOW-INCOME NEIGHBORS STAY IN THEIR HOMES. OUR MISSION IS "REPAIRING HOMES, REVITALIZING COMMUNITIES, REBUILDING LIVES". OUR VISION IS "SAFE HOMES AND COMMUNITIES FOR EVERYONE".

REBUILDING TOGETHER SANDOVAL COUNTY (RTSC) IS AN ALL-VOLUNTEER 501.C.(3) NONPROFIT THAT HAS BEEN REHABILITATING OWNER-OCCUPIED HOMES OF LOW-INCOME FAMILIES FOR MORE THAN TWENTY (20) YEARS. RTSC IS AN AFFILIATE OF THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION REBUILDING TOGETHER, INC. WHICH CURRENTLY HAS MORE THAN 150 AFFILIATES SERVING OVER 600 CITIES IN THE UNITED STATES. WE SERVE VERY-LOW-INCOME ELDERLY AND DISABLED PERSONS, VETERANS, AND DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES WHO CANNOT AFFORD CRITICAL HOME REPAIRS. OUR SERVICE AREA ENCOMPASSES SOUTHERN SANDOVAL COUNTY, INCLUDING THE COMMUNITIES OF RIO RANCHO, CORRALES, BERNALILLO, ALGODONES, AND PLACITAS. WE CONCENTRATE ON REPAIRING THOSE HOUSING PROBLEMS WHICH IMPACT THE ABILITY OF THE FAMILY TO REMAIN IN THE HOME SAFELY. REPAIRS TYPICALLY INCLUDE ROOF REPLACEMENTS, FURNACE AND WATER HEATER REPLACEMENTS, CORRECTING PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL DEFICIENCIES, AND HOME MODIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR DISABILITY ACCOMMODATIONS (WHEELCHAIR RAMPS, SHOWER/TUB/TOILET MODIFICATIONS, WIDENING DOORS). OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE HOUSING STABILITY FOR LOW-INCOME MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY BY REPAIRING DETERIORATING STRUCTURES SO THAT FAMILIES MAY LIVE AND FUNCTION IN A SAFE AND HEALTHY HOME. WE USE BOTH LICENSED CONTRACTORS AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS, AS APPROPRIATE, TO COMPLETE OUR PROJECTS. THROUGH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, NEIGHBORS CAN HELP THEIR NEIGHBORS BUILD A SAFER AND STRONGER COMMUNITY. OUR REPAIRS OFTEN REDUCE THE FAMILY'S NEED FOR ASSISTANCE FROM SOCIAL AGENCIES AND NEIGHBORS. 1.FINISHED FIVE HOMES IN 90 DAYS TO SUPPORT 70,000 HUD VETERANS GRANT STARTED IN APRIL 2021. 2.AWARDED A NEW (FY2021), SECOND, 175,000 GRANT FROM USDA FOR RENOVATING 17 RURAL HOMES IN SANDOVAL COUNTY. 3.RECEIVED AND EXECUTED 17,000 GRANT FROM UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL NEW MEXICO. 4.RECEIVED AND EXECUTED 5,000 GRANT FROM SANDOVAL COUNTY COMMISSION. 5.RECEIVED AND BEGAN EXECUTION 5,000 GRANT FROM MARATHON PETROLEUM. 6.BEGAN EXECUTION OF FIRST (FY2020), 175,000 GRANT FROM USDA FOR RENOVATING 21 HOMES IN BERNALILLO. 7.SUPPORTED UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL NEW MEXICO'S DAY OF CARING (9/18/21). 8.PARTICIPATED IN PLACITAS SELLER'S MARKET IN OCTOBER. 9.DEVELOPED PARTNERSHIP WITH SANDIA NATIONAL LABORATORIES. THIS INVOLVED BOTH A 5,000 GRANT AND OPPORTUNITIES TO APPEAL TO THEIR VOLUNTEERS FOR HELP ON FUTURE PROJECTS. 10.IMPLEMENTED PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY GRADUATE PROGRAM TO HELP IDENTIFY RENOVATIONS THAT BEST MEET THE NEEDS OF DISABLED INDIVIDUALS. 11.ENGAGED CONTRACTORS AND CONSULTANTS TO IMPROVE OUR BACK-END DATA SYSTEMS, WEBSITE, ONLINE DONATIONS SYSTEM, AND SOCIAL MEDIA OUTREACH. 12.DRAFTED STRATEGIC PLAN FOR FY23 CONSIDERATION. 13.HIRED A PART-TIME CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER TO EXPEDIATE USDA GRANT WORK. 14.EXPANDED ONLINE AND LOCAL SALES OF THRIFT STORE FROM ~ 100/WEEK TO ~ 800/WEEK. 15.MET WITH RT NATIONAL STAFF (TERRY SCOTT) TO DISCUSS GROWTH STRATEGIES FOR RT SANDOVAL COUNTY.
