NMCL PROVIDED OPERATING ASSISTANCE TO 12 PROGRAMS IN 12 COUNTIES THAT SERVED 903 ADULT STUDENTS WHO RECEIVED 480 ONE-TO-ONE AND GROUP INSTRUCTIONAL HOURS WITH THE HELP OF 460 VOLUNTEERTUTORS WHO CONTRIBUTED 28,174 HOURS OF THEIR TIME IN PREPARATION AND INSTRUCTION. 148 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED PRE-SERVICE TUTOR TRAINING, BOARD TRAINING, IN-SERVICE TRAINING, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND OUTREACH ASSISTANCE FOR RECRUITMENT AND TO RAISE AWARENESS. 43 INDIVIDUALS WERE RECRUITED AND REFERRED THROUGH THE NMCLS PR CAMPAIGN AND TOLL-FREE ADULT LITERACY HOTLINE.
