NM FIRST, A PUBLIC POLICY ORG., ENGAGES PEOPLE IN IMPORTANT STATE/COMMUNITY ISSUES. UNIQUE TOWN HALLS/FORUMS CREATE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR POLICYMAKERS AND THE PUBLIC. NONPARTISAN POLICY REPORTS ON CRITICAL ISSUES, SUCH AS WATER, EDUC., HEALTHCARE, THE ECONOMY, AND ENERGY ARE PRODUCED FOR ENTITIES.

EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH - NMF ALSO CONDUCTS A RANGE OF ACTIVITIES TO INCREASE NEW MEXICANS' KNOWLEDGE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS. THESE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE CIVIC EDUCATION FOR YOUTH, COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS IN RURAL COMMUNITIES, AND STATEWIDE EFFORTS TO INCREASE CITIZENS CIVIC PARTICIPATION.


CONTRACTS - NMF CONVENES REGIONAL FORUMS, PUBLIC HEARINGS, GROUP FACILITATIONS, AND SMALL TOWN HALLS THROUGH CONTRACTS WITH GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES.


STATEWIDE TOWN HALLS - EACH OF THESE TWO-DAY EVENTS, CONVENED FOR THE PEOPLE AND POLICYMAKERS OF NEW MEXICO, FOCUSES ON A PARTICULAR CRITICAL ISSUE FACING THE STATE. THE TOWN HALLS PRODUCE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR STATE LEADERS AND ARE FOLLOWED BY A 12-18 MONTH IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS, THROUGH WHICH THE TOWN HALL RECOMMENDATIONS ARE PROMOTED.
