THE PURPOSE OF THE SILVER CITY MUSEUM SOCIETY CORPORATION (THE SOCIETY) IS TO SUPPORT THROUGH FUNDRAISING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES THE MISSION OF THE SILVER CITY MUSEUM (THE MUSEUM), A MUNICIPALLY OWNED AND ESTABLISHED MUSEUM AS NOW OR HEREINAFTER CONSTITUTED OR NAMED.

EDUCATION SUPPORT: THE SILVER CITY MUSEUM SOCIETY FUNDING TO THE MUSEUM SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. PROGRAMS INCLUDE OUTREACH AND PARTNERSHIP ACTIVITIES WITH THE SILVER CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT INCLUDE CURRICULUM-ALIGNED WORKSHOPS AND IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES FOCUSED ON LOCAL HISTORY AND CULTURE. YOUTH AND FAMILY LEARNING ACTIVITIES ARE INTEGRATED INTO THE MUSEUM'S SEASONAL EVENTS INCLUDING DIA DE LOS MUERTOS, JULY ICE CREAM SOCIAL AND VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS AND MORE. THE SOCIETY FUNDED DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A SELF-LED EDUCATIONAL MUSEUM EXPLORATORY ACTIVITY FOR YOUTH AND FAMILY AS WELL AS MONTHLY COMMUNITY CONVERSATION PUBLIC SEMINARS FEATURING A VARIETY OF SPEAKERS EACH COVERING A TOPIC CONNECTING THE REGION'S PAST TO PRESENT.
EXHIBIT SUPPORT: SILVER CITY MUSEUM SOCIETY FUNDING TO THE MUSEUM DELIVERS VISITORS STATE-OF-THE-ART EXHIBITS. SOCIETY DISCRETIONARY EXHIBIT SUPPORT FOR FY2022-2023 SUPPORTED PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SEVERAL IMPORTANT EXHIBITS INCLUDING: NUESTRA VOZ-THE CHIHUAHUA HILL STORY-A VISUAL, DIGITAL AND ACOUSTIC TOUR OF THIS HISTORIC SILVER CITY MEXICAN AMERICAN NEIGHBORHOOD; THE ARTURO FLORES STORY WITCH DETAILED THE LEGACY OF THIS EARLY UNION LEADER, HIS ROLE IN THE EMPIRE ZINC MINE STRIKE AND HIS COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHY AND ARTWORK OFFERING A GLIMPSE BACK ON NEW MEXICAN LABOR HISTORY; AND, THE ARTE CHICANO EXHIBIT, FEATURING INDIGENOUS ARTWORK FROM REGIONAL ARTISTS. SOCIETY FUNDING SUPPORTED EXHIBIT ATTENDANCE AND UNDERSTANDING THROUGH GALLERY GUIDES, POSTERS, POST CARDS AND EXHIBIT OPENING EVENTS.
MEMBERSHIP: THE SILVER CITY MUSEUM SOCIETY'S MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM-WHICH HAS GROWN TO MORE THAN 350 ACTIVE MEMBERS-OFFERS MUSEUM ENTHUSIASTS WITH OUTREACH AND INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR VIP EXHIBITS OPENINGS AND THE CREATION AND PUBLISHING OF THE MANSARDIAN-A QUARTERLY SOCIETY MEMBER NEWSLETTER HIGHLIGHTING MUSEUM NEWS AND EVENTS.
