ASSIST THE RIO GRANDE NATURE CENTER STATE PARK IN ACHIEVING ITS OBJECTIVES TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF THE RIO GRANDE BOSQUE AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC OF ITS VALUE AND UNIQUE ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURES.

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT OF 146 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 10,000 HOURS FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION TO FOSTER HUMAN INTERACTIONS IN THE RIO GRANDE PLANT AND ENVIRONMENT ECOSYSTEM. VOLUNTEERS WITH EXTENSIVE HANDS-ON TRAINING IN THIS ECOSYSTEM, SUPPORT ALL PARK ACTIVITIES INCLUDING YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. IN ADDITION, VOLUNTEERS MANAGE AND MAINTAIN THE NATURE SHOP, FRONT DESK, FRGNC OFFICE, TWO GARDENS, RESTORATION EFFORTS, BIRD AND NATURE WALKS, NEW VOLUNTEER TRAINING, AND ALSO PARTICIPATE IN GREETING OVER 140,000 VISITORS PER YEAR.
