THE HUNDLEY FOUNDATION FATHERHOOD PROGRAM- EISNER HEALTH THE HUNDLEY FOUNDATION FATHERHOOD PROGRAM IS A FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL PROGRAM TO FATHERS OF CHILDREN OF ALL AGES. THE 90-MINUTE WEEKLY CLASSES GUIDE PARTICIPANTS THROUGH THE NATIONAL EVIDENCE-BASED NURTURING FATHERS CURRICULUM. EACH SESSION IS LED BY A PROGRAM FACILITATOR TRAINED BY THE GOOD+FOUNDATION. THIS COURSE, WHICH IS A FOLLOW UP OF THE DADDY BOOTCAMP, SEEKS TO PROVIDE FATHERS INFORMATION, DISCUSSION OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT IN THEIR QUEST TO BECOME BETTER PARENTS THROUGH COMMUNICATION SKILLS, COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR AND THEIR KIDS EMOTIONAL NEEDS. IN 2022 THE FOUNDATION LED 4 SESSIONS IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH. OVER 100 FATHERS WENT THROUGH THE PROGRAM.
HUNDLEY FOUNDATION & EMU STUDENT ATHLETE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM INTERNSHIPS ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE STUDENT-ATHLETES WITH A 20 HOURS PER WEEK ON SITE, 4 DAYS PER WEEK EXPERIENCE. THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO ALLOW INTERNS TO APPLY THEIR EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN A PRACTICAL REAL-WORLD ENVIRONMENT THAT ALSO ENABLES THEM TO GAIN VALUABLE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WITHOUT THE NEED TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT HOW BASIC NEEDS ARE MET. STUDENT-ATHLETES PARTICIPATING IN THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM WILL RECEIVE A STIPEND OF $2,500 OVER THE COURSE OF THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM. DURING 2022, 4 STUDENT ATHLETES WERE SELECTED AND COMPLETED A 10 WEEK PAID INTERNSHIP.
5TH QUARTER EPILEPSY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN: WHEN THE LAST SECOND TICKS OFF THE CLOCK AND THE GAME IS OVER, THERE IS STILL WORK TO BE DONE. THE GOAL OF THE 5TH QUARTER EPILEPSY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN IS TO EDUCATE AND EMPOWER OTHERS TO BREAK THE SILENCE SURROUNDING EPILEPSY AND SEIZURES. IT IS A MOVEMENT CREATED TO START MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS IN AN EFFORT TO ENCOURAGE AND EMPOWER THE EPILEPSY COMMUNITY AND LET THEM KNOW THEY ARE NOT ALONE IN THEIR PURSUIT OF A SEIZURE FREE EXISTENCE. FESTIVITIES INCLUDED THE PARTICIPATION OF SAN JOSE STATE UNIVERSITY. THEY HOSTED A 5TH QUARTER FOOTBALL GAME. SAN JOSE STATE HOSTED A 5TH QUARTER GAME. THE FOUNDATION WAS SPOTLIGHTED DURING THE GAME WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO TALK ABOUT THE FOUNDATION AND EPILEPSY. TWO CHILDREN WITH EPILEPSY HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE AS HONORARY TEAM CAPTAINS. THE BOYS, TONY & TYLER, ATTENDED PRACTICE WITH THE SJSU PLAYERS ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON WHERE THEY WERE ABLE TO SPEND TIME WITH THE PLAYERS AND EVEN RUN SOME PLAYS. THE NEXT NIGHT THEY WENT TO THE FOOTBALL GAME AND RECEIVED SPECIAL VIP TREATMENT, INCLUDING VIP PARKING, PREGAME CELEBRATIONS AND AN ON FIELD RECOGNITION THAT WAS TELEVISED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE BAY AREA.TOTAL ESTIMATED REACH- 15,000 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE GAME AND THE GAME WAS TELEVISED LOCALLY.
