TRANSFORMING GENERATIONS' MISSION IS TO ORGANIZE, EDUCATE, AND TRANSFORM CULTURAL AND POWER DYNAMICS TO END GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE. TRANSFORMING GENERATIONS SERVE VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT WITH SAFETY PLANNING AND NAVIGATING THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. WE PROVIDE GROUP AND ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS FOR VICTIMS/SURVIVORS. WE TRAIN AND EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY AND SERVICE PROVIDERS TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/SEXUAL ASSAULT, SPECIFICALLY WHAT THESE ISSUES LOOK LIKE IN THE SOUTHEAST ASIAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY. GENDER JUSTICE, COMMUNITY ADVOCACY, AND QUEER JUSTICE - THIS PROGRAM IS GENDER-LANGUAGE-CULTURAL-SEXUALITY-GENERATION-SPECIFIC WORK TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, YOUTH AND CHILDREN, QUEER, GENDER-NONCONFORMING, AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE IN THE SOUTHEAST ASIAN COMMUNITY, PARTICULARLY THE HMONG AMERICAN COMMUNITY, IN MINNESOTA. SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES PROVIDED INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT DIRECT SERVICES, CRISIS COUNSELING AND INTERVENTION, SUPPORTIVE ADVOCACY, SAFETY PLANNING, GROUP SUPPORT AND GROUP ACTIVITIES FOR VICTIMS/SURVIVORS, OUTREACH TO COMMUNITY, COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND TRAINING OF SERVICE PROVIDERS SUCH AS SOCIAL WORKERS, SCHOOL COUNSELORS, OR COUNTY ATTORNEYS.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS - THIS PROGRAM AREA OFFERS THERAPY SERVICES OR COUNSELING TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED VIOLENCE BASED ON SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY/EXPRESSION. THIS PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES DOMESTIC ABUSE INTERVENTION AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, IN GENDER-SPECIFIC GROUP SETTINGS OR INDIVIDUAL SESSION, FOR THOSE WHO HAVE USED VIOLENCE, COMMITTED AN ACT(S) OF DOMESTIC ABUSE, SEXUAL VIOLENCE, OR ABUSIVE INTERNATIONAL MARRIAGES OR RELATIONSHIPS AGAINST AN INTIMATE PARTNER, FAMILY MEMBER, OR HOUSEHOLD MEMBER. THIS PROGRAM IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE USED VIOLENCE OR CAUSED HARM TO GAIN INSIGHT AND AWARENESS ABOUT THEIR BEHAVIORS AND ITS IMPACT ON OTHERS. REFERRAL TO THIS PROGRAM IS MADE THROUGH COUNTY OR POLICE DEPARTMENTS, LEGAL AGENCIES, OR THROUGH SELF-REFERRAL.
