VOCA/SASP FUNDING IS RECEIVED ANNUALLY THROUGH THE STATE OF SD DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, VICTIM SERVICES PROGRAM. THIS FUNDING IS FOR DIRECT SERVICES PROVISION TO VICTIMS OF CRIMES ACROSS SOUTH DAKOTA PROVIDED THROUGH CALL TO FREEDOM. CALL TO FREEDOM IS A SUB-RECIPIENT TO DPS WHO RECEIVES ALL PROGRAM FUNDING FROM THE FEDERAL VOCA. CTF SERVED 288 VICTIMS DURING THIS GRANT PERIOD AND PROVIDED 8,202 SERVICES TO THOSE SERVED UNDER THIS AWARD.
OVC-2019-VT-BX-0100 FUNDING SERVICES TO YOUTH AND TRIBAL VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS A PROGRAM CENTERED ON SERVING VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS COMPREHENSIVELY THROUGH VARIOUS DIRECT SERVICES. CALL TO FREEDOM HAS SUBAWARDS UNDER THIS PROJECT WHO SPECIALIZE IN BOTH YOUTH AND TRIBAL SERVICES. CALL TO FREEDOM ALSO HAS A YOUTH NAVIGATOR ON STAFF TO ASSIST WITH THIS PROJECT. 29 HUMAN TRAFFICKING VICTIMS WERE SERVICED UNDER THIS AWARD WITH 859 SERVICE UNITS. A TOTAL OF 736 SERVICE PROFESSIONALS WERE TRAINED BY THE PROJECT NAVIGATORS DURING THIS TIME.
OVC-2018-VT-BX-K154 FUNDING COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES TO ALL VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING. CAPACITY BUILD PROJECT. THE FOCUS OF THIS PROJECT IS TO BUILD CAPACITY TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES WHILE ALSO IMPLEMENTING A PILOT PROJECT WITHIN FOUR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS TO HOUSE INTENSIVE CASE MANAGERS WHO SPECIALIZE IN HUMAN TRAFFICKING CASH MANAGEMENT DIRECT SERVICES. CALL TO FREEDOM HAS SUBAWARDS UNDER THIS PROJECT WHO ARE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS THROUGHOUT THE STATE. CALL TO FREEDOM EMPLOYS CASE MANAGERS INTERNALLY AT THE REQUEST OF THE SHELTERS LOCATED IN SIOUX FALLS, SD.
OVC-2020-VT-BX-0001 FUNDING COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES FOR TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING. THE FOCUS OF THIS PROJECT IS TO PROVIDE LOW BARRIER TRANSITIONAL HOUSING OPTIONS TO CLIENTS THAT MEET THE FEDERAL DEFINITION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING. UNDER THIS PROJECT, CALL TO FREEDOM HAS TWO ZERO-DOLLAR MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING ALONG WITH PARTNERSHIPS TO PROVIDE HOUSING OPTIONS AT SCATTERED SITES. CLIENTS RECEIVING TRANSITIONAL HOUSING ARE ALSO OFFERED WRAP AROUND SERVICE PROVIDED BY CALL TO FREEDOM STAFF AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS. 5 CLIENTS WERE SERVED IN 2021 BY THE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING GRANT.
