THE EVENTS OF THE PAST YEAR HAVE LAID BARE AN ARRAY OF LONG-STANDING AND DEEP-ROOTED INJUSTICES INCLUDING INEQUITABLE ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION, FAMILIES NOT KNOWING WHERE THEIR NEXT MEAL WILL COME FROM, AND A SPIKE IN HOMELESSNESS, ACROSS THE U.S. TO ADDRESS THIS SOCIAL INJUSTICE, EXPENSIFY.ORG PROVIDED VOLUNTEER REIMBURSEMENT GRANTS TO COMMUNITY GROUPS TO SUPPORT THEM IN CREATING SOLUTIONS THAT HAVE THE ABILITY TO DRIVE REAL CHANGE. THIS INCLUDES MUTUAL AID GROUPS, MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS AND FORMERLY INCARCERATED SKILLS SUPPORT. ADDITIONALLY, MANY PEOPLE WHO WERE ON THE FRONTLINES THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC ARE ALSO THE ONES THAT FACED THE TOUGHEST BURDENS IN TAKING TIME OFF TO GET VACCINATED. TO EASE SOME OF THESE BURDENS, EXPENSIFY.ORG PROVIDED ONE-TIME GRANTS TO PEOPLE WHO ARE ENROLLED IN THE FEDERAL SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ("SNAP") AND OPTED TO BECOME VACCINATED. INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE BECOME FULLY VACCINATED AND PURCHASED GROCERIES USING THEIR SNAP BENEFITS ARE ABLE TO APPLY FOR THE CHARITY FOR A ONE-TIME GRANT (UP TO FIFTY DOLLARS) TO HELP THEM TO BECOME PROTECTED.
