SEE SCHEDULE O JESUIT VOLUNTEER CORPS (JVC) NORTHWEST RESPONDS TO LOCAL COMMUNITY NEEDS IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST BY PLACING VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDE VALUE-CENTERED SERVICE GROUNDED IN THE JESUIT CATHOLIC TRADITION. JVC NORTHWEST STRIVES TO LIVE OUT THE FOUR VALUES OF COMMUNITY, SIMPLE LIVING, SOCIAL AND ECOLOGICAL JUSTICE, AND SPIRITUALITY/REFLECTION.

SINCE ITS BEGINNINGS IN 1956, OVER 7,500 INDIVIDUALS HAVE VOLUNTEERED FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF FULL-TIME SERVICE AS JESUIT VOLUNTEERS THROUGH JESUIT VOLUNTEER CORPS (JVC) NORTHWEST IN OREGON, WASHINGTON, ALASKA, IDAHO, AND MONTANA.SINCE 2010, JVC NORTHWEST HAS BEEN A GRANTEE OF THE NATIONAL DIRECT AMERICORPS PROGRAM OF THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE, ENABLING MOST OF THE ORGANIZATION'S JESUIT VOLUNTEERS TO ALSO BE AMERICORPS MEMBERS. CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O.THE GRANT HAS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR JVC NORTHWEST TO GO WHERE THE NEED IS GREATEST AND PROVIDE QUALITY SERVICE TO OUR PARTNER AGENCIES AND THEIR CLIENTS. IN THE 2020-2021 SERVICE YEAR, 105 JESUIT VOLUNTEERS (OF WHOM 102 ARE ALSO AMERICORPS MEMBERS) COMMITTED THEIR LIVES TO SERVE FULL-TIME IN SOCIAL SERVICE, HEALTH, ACADEMIC, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND OTHER CHANGE-AGENT ORGANIZATIONS IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE FIVE STATES OF THE NORTHWEST: ALASKA, IDAHO, MONTANA, OREGON, AND WASHINGTON.IN 2012, THE JESUIT VOLUNTEER ENCORPS (JV ENCORPS) PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN PORTLAND, OREGON. THE PROGRAM ENGAGES PEOPLE AGES 50 AND OLDER IN A TRANSFORMING EXPERIENCE OF PART-TIME VOLUNTEER SERVICE. DURING THE 2020-2021 PROGRAM YEAR, A TOTAL OF 85 JVES CONVENED GROUPS IN PORTLAND AND BEND (OREGON) AND TACOMA, SPOKANE, AND SEATTLE (WASHINGTON). IN THE 2020-21 PROGRAM YEAR, THE JVS AND JVES PROVIDED OVER 180,000 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE.
