FRIENDS OF THE UNSHELTERED PROVIDES TRANSITIONAL HOUSING (COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THREE-QUARTER HOUSING), CASE MANAGEMENT, AND EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS MOVING BEYOND RECOVERY PROGRAMS WHO ARE NOT YET READY TO MOVE INTO PERMANENT HOUSING. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS TYPICALLY HAVE A HISTORY OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE, INCARCERATION, HOMELESSNESS, AND/OR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. FRIENDS OF THE UNSHELTERED ALSO PROVIDES EDUCATION TO THE WIDER COMMUNITY ON THE PLIGHT OF THE UNSHELTERED AS WELL AS HIGHLIGHTING SOLUTIONS TO HOMELESSNESS.
