THE PROGRAMS OF FARM TO SCHOOL OF PARK COUNTY (F2SPC) ARE EACH DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE INTERRELATED NATURE OF FOOD EDUCATION, FOOD ACCESS, FOOD AFFORDABILITY AND THE NEED TO CONSTRUCT HEALTHY DIETARY PATTERNS FOR CHILDREN WITHIN PARK COUNTYS SEVERE ECONOMIC CONSTRAINTS.THUS, F2SPC PROGRAMS HAVE EVOLVED TO ENCOMPASS A VARIETY OF SCHOOL- AND COMMUNITY-BASED INTERVENTIONS AIMED TO ADDRESS PARK COUNTYS MOST PRESSING FOOD-RELATED NEEDS.SPECIFIC ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2021 INCLUDE: PROVIDING TWICE MONTHLY ENRICHMENT EDUCATION TO 100% OF LIVINGSTON, MT ELEMENTARY CHILDREN; CULTIVATING SEVEN COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL LEARNING GARDENS, GREENHOUSES, AND FARMS WHICH PROVIDE AN EDUCATIONAL VENUE FOR 100 CHILDREN WEEKLY DURING SUMMER MONTHS AND YIELD 2,000+ POUNDS OF FOOD FOR SCHOOL MEALS; AND REFORMING SCHOOL MEAL SERVICES THROUGH SCHOOL MEAL REDESIGN AND FARM FRESH FRIDAYS WHICH OPTIMIZE NUTRITION AND LOCAL FOOD PURCHASING PRACTICES.
