SUMMER INSTITIUTE PROGRAMS PROVIDE VOCABULARY AND TRAINING RELEVANT TO CURRICULUM PROGRAMS. PARTICIPANTS BUILD CONTEXT AND MAPPING STANDARDS INTO A YEAR-LONG PLAN THAT PRIORITIZES STANDARDS USING A PRE-DEFINED PROCESS. FROM THESE IDENTIFIED STANDARDS, A COMPREHENSIVE STANDARDS-ALIGNED UNIT IS CREATED AND PROFICIENCY SCALES ARE DEVELOPED AS ASSESSMENT AND INSTRUCTIONAL TOOLS. PARTICIPANTS ALSO LEARN AND DEVELOP FORMATIVE FEEDBACK ORGANIZERS AND OTHER STUDENT-FOCUSED AND STANDARDS-ALIGNED ASSESSMENTS. PARTICIPANTS ALSO LEARN ABOUT STANDARDS-BASED REPORTING TO PROVIDE ACCURATE AND MEANINGFUL GRADES UTILIZING THE WORK OF THOMAS GUSKEY.
