WE GIVE ARTISTS THE CHANCE TO MAKE BREAKTHROUGH WORK, GET FEEDBACK, AND GROW THEIR NETWORK. EACH SESSION IS DESIGNED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL ARTIST AND THEIR FAMILY TO ENSURE THEIR TIME IS NURTURING AND PRODUCTIVE. WE PROVIDE ON-SITE SUPPORT FROM OUR RESIDENCY MANAGER, A STIPEND TO DEFRAY COSTS, REGULAR CATERED COMMUNITY DINNERS, AND A KITCHEN STOCKED WITH BASICS. STAFF HELP ARTISTS ARRANGE IN ADVANCE FOR CHILDCARE NEEDS. OUR PROGRAM MANAGER IDENTIFIES HIGH QUALITY ARTS PROFESSIONALS FOR STUDIO VISITS.OVER OUR FIRST THREE YEARS, INTERLUDE HAS HOSTED 50 RESIDENT ARTISTS FOR 3-4 WEEK STAYS IN THE HUDSON VALLEY. OUR CURRENT COHORT OF 21 ARTISTS WAS SELECTED FROM 450 APPLICANTS. THE ARTISTS REPRESENT A WIDE RANGE OF VIEWPOINTS, BACKGROUNDS, AND MEDIA. INTERLUDE IS FREE TO ATTEND AND OPERATES WITH PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT. OUR FUNDING INCLUDES INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS, GRANTS FROM THE SUSTAINABLE ARTS & CARPENTER FOUNDATIONS, AND NYSCA. WE RUN A LEAN OPERATION, AND BOARD MEMBERS VOLUNTEER TIME AND IN-KIND CONTRIBUTIONS TO KEEP COSTS LOW. RESIDENCIES ARE CRITICAL FOR NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES AND BUILDING RESUMES, ESPECIALLY FOR PARENT ARTISTS RE-ENTERING THE CREATIVE WORKFORCE. INTERLUDE HAS QUICKLY BECOME RECOGNIZED AS A PRESTIGIOUS PROGRAM AND A "MARK OF EXCELLENCE" FOR RESIDENTS. WE ENGAGE WITH OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY THROUGHOUT OUR PROGRAMMING. EACH COHORT HAS SEVERAL RESIDENTS FROM THE HUDSON VALLEY. OUR STUDIO VISITS PROGRAM PROVIDES HONORARIA TO AREA ARTS PROFESSIONALS TO CONDUCT VISITS, PROVIDE FEEDBACK, AND JOIN IN COMMUNITY DINNERS. IN SUMMER, WE OPEN OUR GROUNDS TO THE COMMUNITY WITH FAMILY-FRIENDLY WORKSHOPS, CONCERTS AND EVENTS. WE COLLABORATE WITH LOCAL ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AND RESIDENCY PROGRAMS FOR CONNECTION AND MUTUAL SUPPORT.
