ONETA FOUNDATION HELPS CREATE EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS FOR SCHOOLS WHICH RANGE FROM SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS SUCH AS THE CONSTRUCTION OF CLASSROOMS, LIBRARIES, AND SUPPORT BUILDINGS TO SUPPORT FOR TEACHERS, CLASS FIELD TRIPS, AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES.IN ADDITION DUE TO LACK OF EVEN THE MOST BASIC MEDICAL SERVICES ON ONO ISLAND, THE ONETA FOUNDATION PLANS TO BRING IN MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS TO THE AREA TO DIAGNOSE AND TREAT MEDICAL CONDITIONS AMONGST VILLAGE RESIDENTS. TO PROVIDE THESE SERVICES, THE FOUNDATION WILL WORK WITH GUESTS OF ONETA RESORT WHO ARE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS AND IT WILL PARTNER WITH OTHER HUMANITARIAN ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDE MEDICAL SERVICE.THE ONETA FOUNDATION WILL ALSO SPONSOR LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS PROJECTS SUCH AS TRASH REMOVAL, OCEAN AND REEF HEALTH EDUCATION, LAND RESTORATION, AND COMMUNITY CARBON REDUCTION EFFORTS. IT WILL ASSIST IN FIJIAN GOVERNMENT ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES FOR THE CONSERVATION OF THE ASTROLABE REEF. BECAUSE OF THE EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING, DISASTER RELIEF HAS BECOME ONE OF THE MAIN CONCERNS OF THE FOUNDATION OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS IN ADDITION TO ITS ABOVE-OUTLINED MISSION STATEMENT.
