IN JANUARY 2021, PAACS WELCOMED 25 NEW RESIDENTS, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER IN TRAINING TO 107. EACH PAACS RESIDENT IS EXPECTED TO BE THE SURGEON OR PRIMARY ASSISTANT ON APPROXIMATELY 300 CASES PER YEAR. TOGETHER, THEY SURGICALLY IMPACTED OVER 32,000 PEOPLE IN 2021. MORE THAN 2,100 LIVES CAME TO CHRIST THROUGH THE EFFORTS OF PAACS PROGRAMS, FACULTY, AND RESIDENTS.AT THE END OF 2020, THERE WERE 19 RESIDENTS WHO COMPLETED THEIR PAACS TRAINING. THIS GREW THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PAACS GRADUATES SERVING AFRICA IN 2021 TO 110. WE ESTIMATE THAT OUR PAACS GRADUATES COMBINED SAW NEARLY 300,000 PATIENTS, PERFORMED OVER 80,000 PROCEDURES, AND OVER 22,000 PEOPLE HEARD THE GOSPEL THROUGH THEIR MINISTRY.
