MARA FOUNDATION'S GENERAL OBJECTIVES ARE CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL WITHIN THE MEANING OF INTERNAL REVENUE CODE SECTION 501(C)(3). ITS MISSION IS TO CREATE A COMMUNITY THAT IDENTIFIES, ENCOURAGES, AND PROMOTES THE INTERESTS OF PROMISING YOUNG PERSONS IN LITERATURE, FILM, ART, SCIENCE, POLITICS, MUSIC AND OTHER ACADEMIC FIELDS THROUGH EDUCATIONAL FORUMS, SYMPOSIA, NETWORKING WITH MENTORS AND ESTABLISHED PROFESSIONALS AND OTHERS IN SIMILAR FIELDS. MARA FOUNDATION ALSO PROMOTES THE CAUSE OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS BOTH IN AND OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES AND FOSTERS PUBLIC AWARENESS, UNDERSTANDING, AND APPRECIATION OF WOMEN IN LITERATURE, SCREENWRITING, DIRECTING, PLAYWRITING, AND OTHER ARTISTIC FIELDS THROUGH EDUCATIONALEVENTS, SYMPOSIA, AND OTHER MEANS.

THE FELLOWSHIP PROMOTES EACH SYMPOSIUM THROUGH ITS WEBSITE AT HTTPS://WWW.JERICHOFELLOWSHIP.COM. AS EVEN ESTABLISHED (NOT TO MENTION YOUNG UP-AND-COMING) ARTISTS USUALLY STRUGGLE FINANCIALLY AND HAVE LIMITED MEANS, THE FOUNDATION FULLY FUNDS THE VENUE, INSURANCE, DINNER EXPENSES, AND OTHER COSTS OF EACH SYMPOSIUM, SO THAT THERE IS NO ENTRANCE OR OTHER FEE FOR ATTENDEES.THIS YEAR, IN LIEU OF THE FELLOWSHIP PRIZE, THE PRIZE MONEY WAS DIRECTED TOWARDS WORKING DIRECTLY WITH GERI: GENDER EQUALITY & RECONCILIATION INTERNATIONAL. GERI BROUGHT THE ATTENDEES TOGETHER TO SPEAK THE DEPTHS OF THEIR TRUTH, EXPERIENCE THE POWER OF COLLECTIVE HEALING, AND TRANSMUTE DYSFUNCTIONAL GENDER CONDITIONING INTO BELOVED COMMUNITIES, WHICH IS AT THE CORE OF MARA FOUNDATION'S MISSION.
AS AN ADJUNCT EVENT TO THE JERICHO FELLOWSHIP, ACADEMY WAS LAUNCHED IN 2023 AND HOSTED ITS INAUGURAL MULTI-DAY EVENT WITH YOUNG PROMISING ARTISTS IN THE FILM INDUSTRY, ALL UNDER THE AGE OF 18. THE EVENT WAS CREATED TO HELP YOUNG, EMERGING TALENT NAVIGATE THE WORLD OF FILM, TELEVISION AND MEDIA, IN ORDER TO NOURISH, ENRICH, AND SAFELY ANCHOR THEIR LIVES, WORK, AND BEYOND.THE INAUGURAL EVENT BROUGHT TOGETHER 13 TALENTED INDIVIDUALS RESULTING IN A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD A SAFE, INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT WITH A FOCUS ON MENTAL HEALTH THAT GIVES THESE YOUTH THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO BE RESILIENT IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY. THE EVENT AIMS TO EDUCATE AND ENRICH BOTH YOUTH AND MENTORS IN A LEARNING ENVIRONMENT, FILLED WITH EDUCATIONAL FORUMS, SYMPOSIA, WORKSHOPS, THEATRE, AND MUSICAL PERFORMANCES BY ESTABLISHED PROFESSIONALS AND OTHERS IN RELATED FIELDS.
