PROGRAMS: KING DAY OF SERVICE (VIRTUAL), JAN 21; BRONZEVILLE COMMUNITY CELEBRATION, SEPT 21, +500 PEOPLE SERVED; UIUC INTERNSHIPS,COMMUNITY YOUTH PROGRAMMING, REGISTERED STUDENT ORGANIZATION TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO STUDENT BODY 21.


RACIAL JUSTICE: THESE EVENTS FOCUS ON ADDRESSING RACISM, TRAUMA, AND HEALING AS A COLLECTIVE BY DECREASING RISK FACTORS AND INCREASING PROTECTIVE FACTORS WITHIN EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, GENERAL HEALTH, FAMILY STRUCTURES, COMMUNITY NETWORKS, AND CONNECTION TO HISTORIC PEOPLE AND PLACES. EVENTS INCLUDED CHICAGO RACE RIOT OF 1919 COMMEMORATION BIKE RIDE (CRR 1919), JUL 21, APPROX 340 PARTICIPANTS; BE THE HEALING (VIRTUAL 2 DAY CONFERENCE), APR 21 FEATURING INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONALLY RENOWNED SPEAKERS; AND WORDS OF JUSTICE.


ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE: THIS CATEGORY CENTERED ON IMPROVING THE PHYSICAL, SOCIAL, AND SPIRITUAL ENVIRONMENTS OF NEIGHBORHOODS AND GREATER COMMUNITIES. EVENTS INCLUDED FOOD & SUPPLY PANTRY, MINNEAPOLIS, MN FOR NEIGHBORHOODS IMMEDIATELY SURROUNDING GEORGE FLOYD SQ; BIKES, BREATH & ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE--A BIKE RIDE CENTERING ON BLACK & BROWN COMMUNITIES, RAISING AWARENESS TO THE INTERSECTIONALITY OF ENVIRONMENTALISM & ADVOCATE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE.
