YOUNG WOMEN'S TRANSITIONAL HOME OPENED IT'S FIRST HOME IN MOORE COUNTY FOR HOMELESS WOMEN 18-24 IN APRIL, 2022. THE PROGRAM SERVE TWO CLIENTS AS OF THE END OF FY 2022. WE PROVIDED SHELTER, COUNSELING AND EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE. WE ALSO BROUGHT ON TWO CONTRACTED RESIDENT ADVISORS FOR THE PROGRAM. THE USE OF THE HOME WAS DONATED BY A LOCAL CHURCH AND IS LOCATED ON CHURCH PROPERTY.
THE PROGRAM STARTED CONSTRUCTION ON A NEW HOME IN MOORE COUNTY. WE RECEIVED A GRANT OF $25,00 AND DONATIONS OF $120,000 TO BEGIN THE PROJECT. AS OF THE END OF FY 2022, WE HAVE PAID $33,778 TOWARDS THE CONSTRUCTION. THIS HOME WILL HOUSE 4 CLIENTS AND PROVIDE SHELTER, COUNSELING & TRANSPORTATION. EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE WILL BE GIVEN NOT ONLY TO COMPLETE THEIR HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION BUT ALSO THEIR SECONDARY EDUCATION TO A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY.
YOUNG WOMEN'S TRANSITIONAL HOME BROUGT ON 10 NEW ACTIVE BOARD MEMBERS COMPRISED OF PROFESSIONS IN THE FIELD OF BUSINESS, COUNSELING & EDUCATION. WE MEET MONTHLY TO ACCESS THE PROGRAM AND SET GOALS FOR PROGRAM ACTIVITIES, CLIENT DEVELOPMENT AND THE OVERALL OPERATIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION. WE ALSO WERE BLESSED TO HAVE AT LEAST 25 VOLUNTEERS WHO ASSISTED US WITH FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND IN THE SETUP OF OUR FIRST FACILITY.
