TWIN HARBORS WATERKEEPER HAS THREE MAJOR PROGRAMS. THE FIRST PROGRAM WORKS TO PROTECT WATER QUALITY BY PATROLLING FOR ILLEGAL POLLUTION, ENFORCING THE CLEAN WATER ACT, MAINTAINING A POLLUTION REPORTING HOTLINE, CONDUCTING WATER QUALITY SAMPLING AND BY WORKING WITH REGULATORY AGENCIES TO STOP POLLUTION. THE SECOND PROGRAM CONDUCTS OUTREACH AND EDUCATION AROUND A VARIETY OF TOPICS INCLUDING STOPPING THE PROPOSED DAM ON THE CHEHALIS RIVER, CLEANING UP CONTAMINATED INDUSTRIAL SITES THE WILLAPA AND CHEHALIS WATERSHEDS, EDUCATING HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH ABOUT MICROPLASTICS POLLUTION AND CONDUCTING A VARIETY OF COASTAL MARINE DEBRIS CLEANUPS. THE THIRD PROGRAM, PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL TEACHER TRAINING AND MEANINGFUL WATERSHED EDUCATION EXPERIENCES FOR UP TO 30 COASTAL HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS AND WATERSHED EDUCATION AND FIELD TRIPS FOR UP 300 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.
