THE PIPELINE SAFETY TRUST HAS WORKED TO ACHIEVE ITS MISSION BY INCREASING ACCESS TO INFORMATION AND BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS WITH RESIDENTS, SAFETY ADVOCATES, GOVERNMENT, AND INDUSTRY. THE TRUST PROVIDES COMMENTS TO THE REGULATORY RULEMAKING PROCESS AND DRAFTS BRIEFING PAPERS AND GUIDES ON VARIOUS PIPELINE SAFETY ISSUES. IN ADDITION, THE TRUST HOLDS AN ANNUAL NATIONAL PIPELINE SAFETY CONFERENCE, AND SERVES AS AN INDEPENDENT INFORMATION SOURCE FOR THE PUBLIC, MEDIA, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT. THE TRUST'S STAFF SERVE ON NUMEROUS STATE AND FEDERAL PIPELINE SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEES, ARE REGULARLY INVITED TO TESTIFY TO THE U.S. CONGRESS, AND FREQUENTLY SPEAK AT PUBLIC, INDUSTRY, AND GOVERNMENT MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES.
