HOLIDAY PARTY - KYLE & MARISSA HOST FINANCIALLY AT-RISK FOSTER FAMILIES TO PROVIDE THEM WITH THE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS. CHILDREN ARE GIFTED TOYS AND CUSTOM BUILD-A-BEARS AS THE VAN NOYS LOOK TO SPREAD SOME CHRISTMAS CHEER. EACH FAMILY RECEIVES A LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE COMPLETE WITH DECORATIONS AND LIGHTS, A CUSTOM VAN NOY VALOR FOUNDATION ORNAMENT, A POLAR EXPRESS BOOK, AND A GIFT CARD FOR GROCERIES. THE FAMILIES AND CHILDREN ALSO GET TO EXPERIENCE A VERY VAN NOY CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND COMPLETE WITH SANTA, COOKIE DECORATING, A LIVE DJ, AND OTHER HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES. THE FOUNDATION SERVED 53 FOSTER FAMILIES OR APPROXIMATELY 212 INDIVIDUALS (FOSTER CHILDREN AND PARENTS) IN THE INDOOR PORTION OF THE VERY VAN NOY CHRISTMAS AND 130 FOSTER FAMILIES OR APPROXIMATELY 560 INDIVIDUALS (FOSTER CHILDREN AND PARENTS) IN THE OUTDOOR PORTION OF THE PROGRAM, FOR A TOTAL OF 772 INDIVIDUALS.
THE VAN NOY VALIANT KNIGHTS PROGRAM IS THE PREMIER ACADEMIC INTERNSHIP AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS AGING OUT OF FOSTER CARE. IN 2021, TWO LUCKY COLLEGE STUDENTS RECEIVED PAID INTERNSHIPS WITH THOUGHT INDUSTRIES. ADDITIONALLY, A COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP WAS AWARDED TO A STUDENT FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2021-22.
