THE ANTHONY MUNOZ FOUNDATION PROVIDES ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TRI-STATE SENIORS WHO HAVE ASPIRATIONS OF PURSUING A COLLEGE EDUCATION. STUDENTS WHO RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIPS EXCEL ACADEMICALLY, ARE INVOLVED IN THEIR COMMUNITY, HAVE GREAT AMBITION AND HAVE OVERCOME ADVERSITY. 41 STUDENTS RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIPS DURING THE YEAR TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION.
THE FOUNDATION HOLDS SEVERAL CHARACTER CAMPS FOR AT-RISK YOUTH, INCLUDING OVERNIGHT OPPORTUNITIES LIKE HISPANIC CHARACTER CAMP AND IMPACT FOR ETERNITY CAMP. FOOTBALL ACADEMY IS THE FOUNDATIONS DAY CAMP, WHICH TAKES PLACE OVER THE COURSE OF TWO DAYS. IMPACT FOR ETERNITY CAMP AND HISPANIC CHARACTER CAMP INCLUDES 5TH-8TH GRADE BOYS FROM 8-9 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS AND ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE TRI-STATE AREA. CAMP CURRICULUM FOCUSSES ON SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL COMPETENCIES AND WHAT IT MEANS TO RISE ABOVE LIFES CIRCUMSTANCES TO BE A MAN OF INTEGRITY. FOOTBALL ACADEMY BRINGS TOGETHER 3RD-8TH GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS TOGETHER TO LEARN ABOUT CHARACTER, TEAMWORK AND THE IMPORTANCE OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS. COMBINED OVER 660 TRI-STATE YOUTH ATTENDED FOUNDATION CHARACTER CAMPS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
THE YOUTH LEADERSHIP SEMINAR BRINGS TOGETHER 1,000 9TH-12TH GRADE STUDENTS FROM OVER 75 DIFFERENT TRI-STATE HIGH SCHOOLS FOR A DAY OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT. STUDENTS LEARNED FROM LOCAL LEADERS AND HAVE THE PLATFORM TO DISCUSS IMPORTANT TOPICS FROM THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES IN BREAKOUT SESSIONS. STUDENTS FROM SCHOOLS IN ATTENDANCE BRAINSTORM A COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT TO ADDRESS A NEED IN THEIR COMMUNITY. THOSE PROJECTS ARE THEN TRACKED BY THE FOUNDATION THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
