OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE THE RESPONSIBLE OWNERSHIP, MANAGEMENT, AND PROPAGATION OF ANIMALS IN BOTH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC DOMAINS THROUGH PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS IN HUSBANDRY, ANIMAL CARE, SAFETY, AND ETHICS. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY SUPPORTING AND PROMOTING EDUCATION, ESTABLISHING BEST PRACTICES FOR ANIMAL CARE, AND PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO WILDLIFE CONSERVANCIES AND CONSERVATION ENTITIES INTERNATIONALLY.

PROVIDED ACCREDITATION SERVICES AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION EDUCATION; MENTORING ZOOLOGICAL INSTITUTIONS IN BEST PRACTICES IN ZOOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT AND CARE AND HUSBANDRY OF CAPITIVE WILD ANIMALS.


ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING COOPERATIVE BREEDING PROGRAMS TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY CAPTIVE POPULATION OF WILD ANIMALS THAT SERVES AS A GENETIC RESEVOIR; HELD MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES TO DISSEMINATE BEST PRACTIVES FOR ALL ASPECTS OF ZOOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT.


PROVIDED IN SITU CONSERVATION GRANTS FOR FIELD PROGRAMS SUPPORTING WILD ANIMALS AND THEIR HABITATS.
