Part 3 - Line 4a
OUR AMBASSADOR PROGRAM TRAINS LGBTQ STUDENTS IN EFFECTIVE ADVOCACY, HOW TO CONDUCT VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVES, AND HOW TO BUILD BRIDGES WITH PEOPLE WHO SEE THE WORLD DIFFERENTLY. IN FEBRUARY, WE WILL BRING THESE STUDENTS TO THE CAPITOL FOR OUR LEGISLATIVE SUMMIT. WE ARE GIVING THEM THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THEIR CAMPUS. WE PROVIDED 10 STUDENTS ON CAMPUSES ACROSS THE STATE WITH THIS OPPORTUNITY IN 2023. WE HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO HELP SUPPORT 56 LGBTQ COLLEGE STUDENTS WITH THEIR ACADEMIC SUCCESS BY PROVIDING BOTH SCHOLARSHIPS AND MENTORSHIPS. IT'S OUR WAY OF ASSISTING YOUNG PEOPLE TO SEE THE POTENTIAL THEY HAVE INSIDE THEMSELVES TO GROW AND ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS. WE WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GOLDMAN SACHS AND BRIDGE INVESTMENT GROUP TO PROVIDE THESE STUDENTS WITH MENTORS FROM OUR COMMUNITY. MENTORS AIM TO GUIDE STUDENTS IN DEVELOPING THE SKILLS THEY NEED FOR PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS. WE HAVE OBSERVED SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS IN THEIR INTEREST IN LEARNING AND WILLINGNESS TO ENGAGE WITH NEW IDEAS. WE'VE ALSO INCORPORATED WELL-BEING, MENTAL HEALTH, AND MINDFULNESS INTO OUR PROGRAM.
THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO ELIMINATE PREJUDICE AND DISCRIMINATION AND TO DEFEND HUMAN AND CIVIAL RIGHTS OF LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, AND TRANSGENDER (LGBTQ)UTAHNS. THE ORGANIZATION RAISED AWARENESS OF QUALITY ISSUES THROUGH SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS AND OTHER PROGRAMS.
EQUALITY UTAH IS THE STATE'S PREMIER LGBTQ+ ADVOCACY ORGANIZATION. OUR BEL PROGRAM SPECIALIZES IN EDUCATION THAT CREATES BELONGING IN THE WORKPLACE.
