Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
FAIRVIEW BAND BOOSTERS ORGANIZATION MISSION IS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL AND LOGISTICAL SUPPORT TO THE FAIRVIEW HIGH SCHOOL BANDS WHICH IS NOT PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE ORGANIZATION IS COMPRISED OF PARENTS, STUDENTS, FACULTY AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS DEDICATED TO ASSISTING THE BAND.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE FAIRVIEW BANDS PROGRAM CONSISTS OF 3 JAZZ BANDS, 2 CONCERT BANDS AND THE FAIRVIEW MARCHING KNIGHTS. THIS FISCAL YEAR WAS A RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATIONS WITH COMPETITIONS FOR ALL BANDS. WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO REPORT THAT ALL OF OUR BANDS EXCELLED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE COMPETITIONS BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY REESTABLISHED THE BAND FAMILY CAMARADERIE AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. FAIRVIEW JAZZ BANDS: FAIRVIEW HIGH SCHOOL OFFERS 3 LEVELS OF JAZZ BAND CLASSES THAT INCLUDE INSTRUCTION IN BIG BAND AS WELL AS JAZZ COMBOS. THESE BANDS (BOTH COMBOS AND BIG BANDS) PARTICIPATE ANNUALLY IN THE MILE HIGH AND GREELEY JAZZ FESTIVALS AS WELL AS PERFORM AT VENUES SUCH AS THE MUSE PERFORMANCE SPACE IN LAFAYETTE, AN ANNUAL EVENING OF JAZZ FUNDRAISING BENEFIT, AND OTHER VENUES. ALL THREE LEVELS OF JAZZ BANDS AT FAIRVIEW HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND RECEIVED SUPERIOR RATINGS IN REGIONAL JAZZ FESTIVALS. CONCERT BAND: THE TWO LEVELS OF CONCERT BANDS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE CBA REGIONAL COMPETITION IN MARCH 2022 RECEIVED HIGH MARKS. CONCERT BAND RECEIVED AN EXCELLENT RATING AND OUR SENIOR LEVEL SYMPHONIC BAND RECEIVED A SUPERIOR RATING. THESE BANDS PERFORMED SEVERAL LIVE CONCERTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY. FAIRVIEW MARCHING KNIGHTS: THE 2-YEAR BREAK FROM MARCHING BAND SEASON WAS ONE OF THE MOST CHALLENGING HURDLES OF THE YEAR FOR THE PROGRAM. WITH NEW MARCHERS AND A LIMITED GROUP OF VETERANS, THIS GROUP OVERCAME MANY OBSTACLES TO BUILD A COMPETITIVE BAND. WITH ONE OF THE SMALLEST BANDS COMPETING IN THE STATE, WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD OF OUR 4TH PLACE ACHIEVEMENT IN THE CBA 5A DIVISION. THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR WILL PRESENT CHALLENGES DUE TO A DECREASE IN ENROLLMENT AND ECONOMIC ISSUES. FBBO WILL CONTINUE TO FUNDRAISE AND ENGAGE OUR COMMUNITY AND ALUMNI FOR SUPPORT. WE ARE HERE TO MAKE SURE EVERY STUDENT THAT WANTS TO BE A PART OF THE FAIRVIEW BAND PROGRAM HAS THE OPPORTUNITY AND INSTRUMENTS TO PLAY ON
