OUR PRIMARY PURPOSE IS HEALTH CARE AND FAMILY LIFE DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA AND HAITI THROUGH A SERIES OF TRAINING AND RESOURCE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS INCLUDING THE FAITHFUL HOUSE, SAFE PASSAGES,THE 1ST THOUSAND DAYS OF LIFE,AND THE COUPLE BEAD METHOD OF FERTILITY AWARENESS.WE PROVIDE TRAINING OF TRAINERS FOR SAFE BIRTH AND SECURE FAMILIES TO HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS COMMUNITY AND CHURCH LEADERS. THESE PROGRAMS WORK AT THE GRASSROOTS TO LESSEN HIV RISK DECREASE LEVELS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ALCOHOLISM AND IMPROVE RESPECT FOR WOMEN FOOD SECURITY AND IMPROVED PARENTING.

THE FAITHFUL HOUSE PROGRAM IS A CENTERPIECE PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES COUPLE-CENTERED DEVELOPMENT FOR IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING OF FAMILIES THROUGH ONGOING TRAINING PROGRAMS IN MULTIPLE SITES IN AFRICA AND HAITI. OVER THE COURSE OF ITS IMPLEMENTATION IT HAS REACHED NEARLY 300,000 COUPLES PROVIDING THEM WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO IMPROVE THEIR COUPLE RELATIONSHIPS BE FAITHFUL AND AVOID HIV IMPROVE THEIR FOOD SECURITY SHARE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DOMESTIC TASKS AND FURTHER RESPECT WOMEN. OVER THE PAST FISCAL YEAR OVER 4000 PEOPLE WERE REACHED BY THIS PROGRAM DIRECTLY IN KENYA TANZANIA UGANDA NIGERIA AND HAITI. IN ADDITION "TRAINING OF FACILITATORS" PROGRAMS REACHED ANOTHER 90 COUPLES WHO BECAME TRAINERS.
WE HAVE CONTINUED THE IMPROVEMENTS ON THE ST. JOSEPH FAMILY LIFE CENTER IN MASAKA UGANDA WHICH SERVES AS A REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER FOR OUR LEAD PROGRAMS. THIS FISCAL YEAR WE INSTALLED A FUNCTIONING WATER SYSTEM PURCHASED BEDS AND CABINETS FOR EACH DORMITORY ROOM SUPPLIED BEDDING ADDED ELECTRICITY AND PAINTED THE DORMITORY. AFTER OUR LONG EFFORTS TO MAKE THIS CENTER FUNCTIONAL WE HOSTED OUR FIRST RETREAT FOR REGIONAL LEADERS FROM THROUGHOUT EAST AFRICA AT OUR FACILITY FOR THE FIRST TIME.
IN 2022 WE MADE INVESTMENTS IN MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO HEALTH FACILITIES LACKING ADEQUATE RESOURCES IN NORTHERN UGANDA WHICH WE DISTRIBUTED IN EARLY 2023. THERE WERE 102 OBSTETRICAL CARE PROVIDERS - PHYSICIANS MIDWIVES AND NURSES - FROM 38 HEALTH CENTERS AND HOSPITALS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE 5-DAY TRAINING. WE PROVIDED EACH FACILITY WITH A MYRIAD OF LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT TO REDUCE NEONATAL AND MATERNAL DEATHS INCLUDING ANTI-SHOCK GARMENTS SPECIALIZED BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORS FOR DETECTING SHOCK AND HYPERTENSION NEWBORN RESUSCITATION UNITS AND TRAINING MANNEQUINS FOR TEAM-BASED MANAGEMENT OF OBSTETRICAL EMERGENCIES.
