RESEARCH PROJECT "MILITARY SUICIDE RESEARCH CONSORTIUM-RENEWAL" PERSONS SUFFERING FROM MAJOR MENTAL ILLNESSES ARE AT ELEVATED RISK OF SUICIDE- RELATED BEHAVIORS. REPEATED DEPLOYMENTS TO THE MIDDLE EAST HAVE RESULTED IN MANY MILITARY PERSONNEL HAVING SYMPTOMS OF PTSD OR OTHER PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS. THE GOALS OF THIS STUDY ARE TO PRODUCE NEW SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR IN THE MILITARY THAT WILL IMPROVE MENTAL HEALTH OUTCOMES FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL, USE RESEARCH METHODS AND ANALYSES.
EXPRESS 31 - PROVIDES IN DEPTH ANALYSIS OF TRANSCRIPTIONAL DATA RESULTING FROM THE EXPRESS 31 CLINICAL TRIAL ENROLLMENT AT SIX FOREIGN SITES. IN ADDITION TO THE ANALYSIS WORK, PROVIDING DATASETS FOR ADVANCED MODELING AND INTERPRETATION OF THE DATA.
BILL AND MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION - DEVELOPS A SHORT COURSE PAN-TB TREATMENT. SPECIFICALLY, THIS TEST WILL PROVIDE INFORMATION TO THE BILL AND MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION'S TB REGIMEN SCREENING FUNNEL, ENSURING THAT DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES ARE COMMITTED TO THE MOST EFFICACIOUS CANDIDATE REGIMENS. THE CANDIDATE TEST IS CALLED THE RIBOSOMAL RNA SYNTHESIS RATIO (RS RATIO). DEVELOPED BY AN ACADEMIC COLLABORATION CALLED THE PD MARKERS FOR MYCOBACTERIAL DISEASES CONSORTIUM.
