THE DURANGO NORDIC SKI CLUB PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR NORDIC SKIING AND OTHER HUMAN-POWERED OUTDOOR RECREATION TO PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, ABILITIES, AND BACKGROUNDS IN SOUTHWEST COLORADO WHILE SERVING AS A STEWARD OF OUR HOME IN THE HEART OF THE SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS.

OPERATED SKI AREA FROM DECEMBER UNTIL MARCH, WITH GROOMED NORDIC SKI TRAILS FOR THE PUBLIC, STAFFED WITH VOLUNTEERS AND PAID STAFF. OFFERED SKI LESSONS AND SKI RENTALS. HELD A SERIES OF LOCAL RACES. BENEFITED AROUND 5,000 PEOPLE.
RAN A JUNIOR NORDIC RACE PROGRAM, COACHED BY ONE SALARIED COACH AND MULTIPLE OTHER COACHES. ALSO OFFERED NON RACE SPECIFIC COACHING TO BOTH JUNIORS AND ADULTS. BENEFITED AROUND 180 SKIERS.
FUNDRAISING FOR THE NORDIC SKI CENTER AND FOR THE JUNIOR RACE TEAM. INCLUDED FINDING CORPORATE SPONSORS, LOCAL INDIVIDUAL SPONSORS AND HOLDING SPECIAL EVENTS SUCH AS FULL MOON SKIS ETC.
