ISING! FESTIVAL (IS2021) IS A FESTIVAL PRODUCED BY APAC, ALONG WITH CO-PRODUCERS. APAC WORKED ALONGSIDE WITH YOUNG ARTISTS PROGRAM OF THE HOUSTON GRAND OPERA, METROPOLITAN OPERA, SAN FRANCISCO OPERA, CITY OF SUZOU, JIANGSU PROVINE, SUZHOU INDUSTRIAL PARK AND SUZHOU CULTURE AND ART CENTER. PARTICIPANTS INCLUDED 25 SOLOISTS, 3 PIANISTS, 3 CONDUCTORS AND THE SUZHOU SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. PRODUCTION TEAM INCLUDED STAGE DIRECTORS, STAGE MANAGER, STAGE HANDS, VIDEO DESIGNERS, SET DESIGNER'S AND WORKERS AND CARPENTERS.


TIANJIN JUILLIARD IS THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS NEW YORK SCHOOL OF JUILLIARD IN CHINA. ISING! FESTIVAL HAS INITIATED A COLLABORATION WITH TIANJIN JUILLIARD BY BRINGING ISING! SINGERS TO THE COLLABORATIVE PIANO DEPARTMENT IN THEIR CLASSROOMS SO THAT OUR ISING! SINGERS CAN WORK WITH THEIR PIANO STUDENTS IN THE STUDY OF OPERAS AND ART SONGS FROM AROUND THE WORLD AS WELL AS ENGAGING IN NEW MUSIC COMMISSIONED BY BOTH PARTIES SUCH AS THE TANG POEMS SET TO NEW MUSIC BY YOUNG COMPOSERS WORLDWIDE. THESE STUDIES CULMINATED IN PERFORMANCES OF RECITALS IN THEIR BEAUTIFUL RECITAL HALLS AT TIANJIN JUILLIARD. OUR ISING! SINGERS RECEIVE A SMALL STIPEND FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION.


WE HAVE STARTED COLLABORATING WITH LINCOLN CENTER BY HAVING OUR ISING! SINGERS PERFORM POPULAR CHINESE SONGS IN THEIR CONCERTS SINCE 2021. THESE CONCERTS TAKE PLACE AT ALICE TULLY HALL, DAVID KOCH HALL, OR ROSE THEATER OF THE LINCOLN CENTER JAZZ AT COLUMBUS CIRCLE PERFORMED IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE WITH 1000 TO 2500 PEOPLE.


THE DOCUMENTARY PROJECT STARTED IN 2020 DURING THE PERIOD WHEN WE PRESENTED THE WORLD PREMIERE OF TANG POEMS SET TO NEW MUSIC IN SUZHOU. A TEAM OF 10 PROFESSIONALS, INCLUDING DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY, CAMERA MEN AND EDITORS AND ASSISTANTS SPENT A FEW MONTHS TO SHOOT ALL THE RAW FOOTAGE OF THE WORLD PREMIERE, FROM COACHING AND REHEARSAL PERIOD TO THE PERFORMANCES IN SUZHOU TO THE PRESENTATION OF AN EDITED DOCUMENTARY AT THE 10TH DAY OF THE LUNAR NEW YEAR IN 2021 ON TELEVISION. IN 2022, THIS DOCUMENTARY CONTINUES TO PERFORM IN DIFFERENT VENUES IN SHANGHAI, BEIJING AND NEW YORK AS WELL AS APPLYING TO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVALS IN THE US AND OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD. MORE EDITING HAS BEEN ONGOING TO DIFFERENT LENGTH AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS. HOPEFULLY WHEN THE PANDEMIC IS OVER IN THE WORLD, WE CAN BRING IT TO MANY MORE PLACES. THIS IS VERY COSTLY.
