THE PLAINS CONSERVATION CENTER (THE ORGANIZATION) MANAGES OVER 1,100 ACRES OF SHORTGRASS PRAIRIE LEASED FROM THE CITY OF AURORA, COLORADO, AS WELL AS MORE THAN 8,900 ACRES ALONG THE BIJOU CREEK IN THE COLORADO COUNTIES OF ARAPAHOE AND ELBERT. EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2016, THE ORGANIZATION TRANSFERRED ALL MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS OF ITS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO THE DENVER BOTANIC GARDENS (DBT). DBT ASSUMED ALL RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO MARKETING, PRICING, HIRING, AND MANAGING, ALL EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES PREVIOUSLY DONE BY THE ORGANIZATION. THE ORGANIZATION ENTERED INTO AN ASSET TRANSFER AGREEMENT WITH THE SAVORY INSTITUTE.ORG, INC. A 501(C)(3) CORPORATION. UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, THE ORGANIZATION TRANSFERED ESSENTIALLY ALL OF ITS ASSETS, AGREEMENTS, AND RELATED LIABILITIES TO THE INSTITUTE WITH THE INSTITUTE TAKING OVER ALL OPERATING ACTIVITIES OF THE PLAINS CONSERVATION CENTER.
